Building a solid Fibreglass Wave Breaker from Scratch

@@ADVENTURES_ADRIFT all good mate. I am doing my own boat as well so I know the struggles. Maintain the rage though. You are doing a wicked job. I hope to make mine look clean like yours. Ive been hesitant to make molds but you made it look a lot easier than what I had in my head

I wasn’t too keen to start with but it’s easier than you think and comes out great! I think I’m going to make a mould for the well back into the transom as well.

Hey mate, glad you’re getting something out of the videos! I used unwaxed laminating resin and I added more glass to the wave breaker after I glasses it to the boat. I did throw more glass at the breaker lip before it was glasses to the boat as it was easier upside down.

@@ADVENTURES_ADRIFT thanks mate, did you use any waxed resin in any parts of your build to avoid having the tacky surface?

When required yes. You have to plan it it when you need wax and when you don’t

Gazza, with the long days we do trolling it’s essential to be able to sit down and look through windows. I know it compromises the breaker but overall it’s worth it. Additionally my girlfriend is 4 foot tall so she can’t see over 🤣

@@ADVENTURES_ADRIFT Haha, Will you be bolting the window's to the outside/inside or using rubber seal's for flush mount?

Probably bolting them to the outside with sikaflex to seal it.
