Acapulco blue is the best factory color for a mustang. That's what color my 67 is.

Nice subbox. I would like to build the same. Do you have a pattern or dimensions you can share

Before you install I have to ask if your car is a convertible?, I ended up pulling the box out of the car as I could not power the box enough to overcome the road noise. Without a roof the subwoofer has no way to build pressure to hear it all that well. If I was stopped it sounded great but not while driving. I suggest you place a subwoofer in the trunk just to make sure you like the sound and only if it works for you then maybe build a custom box. As far as dimensions it really will be reliant on your specific car and how deep you place the woofer into the cavity.. I would hate to give you measurements that hurt your quarter panel. if you follow along it is critical how deep the box is the height and width are simply what can fit into the opening. Sorry I do not have overall size

Very informative video. Liked and subscribed! I am thinking of buying a pair of JL Audio12W0v3 that is best used with amplifier power in the 75W - 300W range and is optimized to operate in a moderately sized 1.375 cu. ft. (38.9 l) sealed enclosure, or a 1.75 cu. ft. For ported box. If I calculated right , the sealed boxes they come in have the following volume: (13 1/4 x 5 x 23)÷1728 = .88 cu ft. Do you think the foam would be enough to make up for the difference in volume? Or do i need to make a larger box? I've got a 65 mustang coupe and want to bolt the boxes behind the seat divider. Thanks for any advice you can give.

that sounds fantastic, wish I could have directed the subwoofer into the car. in all honesty my sub is almost useless with the roof down as I get no SPL (pressure) your idea is great. In order to make the box seem bigger you need to slow the sound wave, the BEST material is insulation like rockwool or fibreglass.I suggest you Search google on "how to increase subwoofer enclosure size". there are a number of forums on the subject. good luck and thank you

@68mustangrestoration34 Thanks for the quick reply. I will do that google search. I hate having to drill holes onto a classic, but it sounds like I will have to in order to keep it stationary.

@@dannycastaneda1974 yes, there are people much smarter than me on the forums. I had read you can increase the volume by using different materials some say rockwool, others like the fibre fill you get at art supply stores like michaels

@@68mustangrestoration34 I may go with the Poly fil just to avoid dealing with the itchy fibers.

Looks very nice. What are the actual dimensions of the box? I was interested in the width and height. Thanks.

Sorry for the delay. Since there is not a lot of room in the rear quarter area the dimensions are rather small at 14 inches wide , 12 inches tall and 5 inches deep at the top and 6 inches deep at the bottom. it is a 10 inch subwoofer designed to work in a small sealed enclosure. Check the specs on your subwoofer to ensure the enclosure is big enough as starving the subwoofer of air is just as bad as too much.

Hey Wally what is your burning the tires song for you? Mine is Aerosmith Back in the Saddle. Just makes you want to rip through the gears.

that is a tough one, I have a number of "trigger" songs. Radar love - golden earing, Highway star - Deep Purple, Danger zone - kenny loggins... I could go on and on

@@68mustangrestoration34 I have been asked a few times what my favourite song is and it is almost impossible to pick with so much music and genres over the years. I told my wife they could play Gerry Rafferty Baker Street at my funeral lol.
