haven't done alot of poured epoxy, how do you keep finish from dripping off edge? nice work how many hours
@Truewoods

Thanks, I think around 30 hours, but I don't always keep track. The epoxy drips can be sanded, or scrape it at just the right time.

Beautiful work, what wood did you use for the frame and how did you cut the slot in the middle of the board?
@Truewoods
@Truewoods 4 года назад
Thanks! The border is maple, the center is fiddleback maple, and the groove was cut with a router.

@@Truewoods Thanks for the reply, off to purchase my Birch. O'm actually making a surfboard wall hanging for my son's new beach house. Thanks for the inspiration. One followup. When you cut the slot with the router, did you do it prior to cutting the oval shape so you could use the straight edge of the board? Tx again!

@@danwas44 I could have, but did it afterwards because I had a veneer seem to follow so it was just as easy. Shouldn't matter either way though.

Bro please help lol when you traced the board onto the frame how far inside of the line did you cut to allow for the recess?

You can make a template, but what I did was traced the top and offset my line just over the width of the rabbiting bit. After that I used the router by hand to carefully bring the cut to my line. I left the pencil line and sanded a small taper onto the insert. Again, you can make a template for both pieces and get a perfect fit, probably in less time. Good luck
