I've seen my progress too in my learning curve over the last 18 months. My early projects weren't checked for square and don't sit flat on the floor. I use clamp on corner squares during glue up assembly now with every project and they come out so much better.

Good to see young people taking up the craft. Best of luck to you! One thing I've learned about glue set up is that if you use TightBond II or III, they have a longer working time than standard carpenters' glue. Might not entirely solve your issue, but it'll help. And it speeds up a project when you can glue up more pieces at one time.

Instead of an office chair, a great trick I found online (somewhere 🤔) was to place a sheet of solid pink insulation on the floor and place my 4x8 sheet I want to cut on top of it. That way your entire sheet is supported when you cut through. Obviously set the depth of your blade accordingly 😁 I cut my insulation into 2 4x4 for versatility and easier storage 👍

I have a dewalt table saw and I'm just amazed that nobody makes an extension for the rails or the table for that matter! Seriously if someone had the ability to mass produce such a thing you would make some serious money!

I used 3/4 MDF since its much more stable and resistant to expansion etc. Then I put Sheet vinyl on top with contact cement. Worked great without extra support. (Plywood sags and warps with time.) If you have cats, use the old top under the cat box to trap stray litter. Or add a pillow for the dog ...

If I don't use my table saw to cut sheet material, is there any reason why I should have or need extensioin wings?

I have that saw, want to fill the spot to the right of blade so there's a surface all the way out the full range of the fence. I have a dedicated Jessem router table so don't need to put a router table in there.

Is your rail system aftermarket? I'd like to do this but don't have very long rails.

An idea for that old extension wing...flip it over and turn it into a food tray or something along those lines.

I could never get square cuts that way with a guide and circular saw. I invested in a Festool and a 4x8 Bora Centipede.

What is HDF in cabinets?

Use it to make an art piece inside the back of the old extencion table. Then hang it up on the wall like a canvas.

How do you cut a full sheet of plywood in half long ways and short

Last time I made one of those I used Melamine instead of plywood, then when waxed it was nice and slick. Looked good too, wrapped in walnut.

Save the old extension for a future "Glory-Hole" booth, that you can set up behind an Adult Book Store and make a few extra bucks.

Before I watched all of the video, I thought you might put some braces under that extension like they do on acoustic guitars. I think 2-3 braces would keep it straight.
