Good to hear. Working on a lefty and the curves on the backside go further up than they should. Probably gonna have to either sand or use some form of putty to flatten it. Thanks again for the help!
Hey just curious, is the action high on your setup? I'm pretty sure the aliexpress neck has a 9.5" radius whereas the TOM bridge/tailpiece is a 12" radius. Or did your luthier sand/notch the E strings super deep? It sounds great none the less.
Hendo, both these vids were great and so helpful, thank you! I have two AliExpress bodeis in my possession, I am just currently sourcing products for my first build. My biggest concern and question is selecting a neck. Im looking at purchasing off Etsy, or possibly even Fender direct, I just don't know what I am looking for in regards to making sure it fits, or fits close enough to where I can sand it down and make it fit. To your knowledge, am I good with anything labeled as a Strat neck? Or are there specfic metric #s I need to look out for? Also, im a complete novice, and want to know how does the neck connect to the body? Is it connected by the 4 screws through the neckplate, or is it set in place and glued? I have no idea. Thanks in advance.
Hey bud thanks for your comment! I would recommend any kind of Stratocaster neck with big headstock and no matter what neck you get you will have to slightly sand the neck pocket for it to fit. There is a few good Chinese necks of eBay that would do I can link you to one I got I seen it on eBay if that would do you? And yeah you will have to bolt the neck on with neck plate! Anything else I can do the help just ask
@@HendoReviews Yes, please send the link for the neck, that would be greatly appreciated. I'm also curious about the bridge. I know you mentioned you had the one you used laying around so there wasn't a link, but people seem to say the Tune-o-Matic bridges are the best. Idk if those are universal or if I need to be careful there as well. Seems like the pegs / inserts are you showed in the video are the important ones. I am going to have to teach myself how to solder as well, but doesn't look to complicated. Any recommendations for a solder station? And then lastly, the input you used is exactly what I want, I just need it in gold. Building a white and gold Starcaster, with some light black accents. Can't wait. Thanks again for all your help Hendo!
@@VWALLSHENANIGANS Soldering is easy once you get a hang of it trust me I had lots of try’s and fails when I learnt but it’s all about practice like and here is the link www.ebay.co.uk/itm/394291223100?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=kkddwyooqbm&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=LDPjr4HURgy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY That’s the one I am gonna get if I make another one but that’s the same as mine
