FM9 + SD200 is everything you need. Add an expression pedal for the wah, and a 4x12 cab, and you are all set.

Those temple audio boards seem pretty sweet with the patch bay options. I have a powerstage 700 and a quad cortex on my travel/live rig. Love the simple travel board setups.

Curious to know, how do you power both devices? Can’t seem to find a power supply that will accommodate something like a powerstage and an hx stomp.

@@haymjack I had it on a board for a bit and just used a power strip and plugged the powerstage into that and also had a cioks power supply I plugged in as well that powered the QC and everything else. Currently moved everything to a rack and have it all powered by a Furman power rack.

We drilled holes that line up with the feet screws underneath the FM9. Then, we screwed through the pedalboard into the FM9. Much more solid for flying/touring internationally.

Any power in? Nice! Game changer! The old rental house I shared with my band mates would make that adapter work for it! Every outlet was ungrounded, there were at least 2 different phases, and the guitar would zap me every time I touched the strings (Nady wireless cured that). Very dangerous but also very cheap! 😂

Fluff, out of the Powerstage you're going to backline cabinet I assume then other FM9 output is going to FOH? For your FOH output do you still have cabs enabled?

Nice setup. I just snagged a couple pedal amps recently to see what they are all about. Got the EH 5mm and the Carvin Mach 100. Kinda hard to beat them from a value standpoint and with a good analog pre-amp and decent cab they sound killer. Been using them more than my tube head recently. It's like an old 80s rack setup but on the floor.

Funny to see the difference between a professional musician and a normal one. Your flight rig looks like his everyday one.
@gcvrsa
@gcvrsa Год назад
A 28" wide by 16.5" deep pedalboard is not what I would call "travel friendly", at all, and there is a huge amount of wasted space on that board. The flight care for that model measures 32" wide x 19.25" deep x 7.5" high. You can forget travelling with that as cabin baggage, although it does make it in under the common 62 linear inches limit for most airlines' checked baggage policies. But does it even make the weight limit of 50 lbs? The flight case alone is 19.5 lbs, the board is another 5 lbs, then you still have to add the weight of all the electronics and cabling. The largest pedalboard I would consider "travel friendly" is one that fits into the common 22 x 14 x 9 size limits for cabin baggage. There's a reason the Boss BCB-1000 pedalboard is the size it is. However, this ignores one big problem: you're almost certainly flying with an instrument, and if you intend to bring your instrument as cabin baggage, then you can't bring a 22 x 14 x 9 pedalboard, as well, so that size of pedalboard really works better for train travel, where there are fewer restrictions, or in-city travel by foot, transit, or taxicab. Assuming you are flying with an instrument, and you don't want to check your instrument or pedalboard (and I would recommend you do not check them), since your instrument counts as your one allowable piece of cabin baggage, you will be limited to only a "personal item"/"flight tote" that needs to be able to fit under the airline seats. And guess what? No pedalboard company on the market makes a pedalboard and case to suit this purpose and maximize the available space, not even companies like Mono, who specialize in musician's travel luggage. Mono's "small" pedalboard is 18" x 12.5" x 4.75", and their "lite" pedalboard is only 14" x 5.75" x 1.5". Other companies have the same size problems. The largest size you can realistically fit into a case small enough to fit under most airliner seats is going to be about 15.5" x 11.5" x 7.5", but even this will be too large for many airlines/airplanes. You can fit about 8 regular-size pedals (2 rows of 4 pedals) on a board that size. And ideally, the board will be flat enough to allow room in the case for a change of clothing, toiletries, personal electronics, and an in-flight snack, so you don't have to check anything, at all, unless you are going for longer than a weekend, in which case, you can check a bag full of extra clothes, not your music gear. I have to question whether or not it makes sense to build a fly rig with a power amp, in the first place. Why not simply build a direct-to-PA board, and rely on backline for amps/cabs, since you are already relying on backline if you aren't bringing cabinets?
@gcvrsa
@gcvrsa Год назад
Also, Speakon for power?? A standard IEC connector would have been a much better idea. You really don't want to be in the position of having to fabricate a custom cable on the road, if anything happens to that.

Those BNC connectors for the wireless antenna seem awfully close together…if the wireless unit operates around 500MHz, you’ll want those connectors to be at least 6 inches apart. Awesome rig!! Fractal + power stage + sennheiser sounds like a rock solid rig.

That is a cool setup. I was using a Mission Engineering Inc Gemeni H Full 4U Head Rack for my Powerstage 700 and Axe FX 3. Powerstage gets so freaking hot though that I stopped using it. Do you think it would be safe to have them in the same unit? Just asking because I loved the portability of having the Axe FX and the amp in one unit that could connect to anything be it FoH or 4x12 or whatever else you would need.

@@RiffsAndBeards lol that’s why I didn’t say anything negative my guy. Only expressed how crazy it was in comparison to normal people. Guys in the music scene around here, even ones that tour to neighboring states all use the cheapest stuff they can find, and half the time it’s falling apart. And connected by entire colonies of wire snakes. Lol Though I will admit I made this comment before watching the full video and quickly realized I forgot how difficult it is to set up floor boards like this. You can literally spend weeks trying to get it right. So I did consider deleting the comment but since I didn’t bash you or anything I decided not to. Even if this does make sense for a traveling musician I still hold to it being crazy. Lol not bad crazy though.
@MisterRorschach90
@MisterRorschach90 Год назад
@@angrygoldfish I completely agree with this sentiment. But only to an extent. The facts are for certain product segments there are things that are expensive but will be worth it in the long run, and others that will literally never be worth it. Those crazy limited edition pedals that sell second hand for tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars, custom shop master built guitars with insane levels of detail that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, etc. it is the job of manufacturers to make us think we need things and that they will make our lives easier. And with more and more products released every day it becomes more and more difficult to discern which of them actually will make life easier. Though I would honestly like to find out if this applies to the cleaning industry. My dad cleaned at a recording studio for a college job and kept it after graduation because of the free recording time and very large wage. He paid me 5 bucks an hour to help him and once the vacuum broke down. We went to buy the most expensive vacuum from Walmart to get the job done but the studio owner took it back immediately and bought the most expensive vacuum on the market. He said it would be worth it in the long run and oh boy it was. It was like night and day. What’s funny is they still have that exact same vacuum decades later and it’s still better than every other commercial or industrial vacuum I’ve ever used. Sorry for the rambling.

What are "normal people"? It's CRAZY for someone to have anything less than this, and expect to have good repeatable performances night after night out on the road.The day and age of using little pieces of tape or paint pens to mark your amps knob settings is over. If you hadn't noticed, he doesn't have a crew of sound guys doing everything for him. This is what's up. Deal with it.
