Ah thanks, I just did it instinctively, I guess a music producer background sorta gave me a sense of how the mind works from an audience perspective. My sons are doing our newer vids and learning as they go. Thanks again Richard
I’m not at all fussed by your product choices, I think you did a wonderful job, the flow has perfect volume and speed, it doesn’t look man made it looks natural you should be proud of your efforts and hard work! I love it
Thanks JC, that was from a while ago, newer upcoming project vids will be uploaded soon. Something prospective clients often struggle to understand is that while anyone can pile rocks-up, it's few who have the eye to mimic nature
Very nice look and sound. At first I thought this was going to be a simple symmetrical tiered falls but happy to see how organic it looks. Very nice job.
I can't believe I just found this channel. I've been wanting to build a wildlife pond and stream for a few years and I've been collecting materials and info over the past couple years. This is exactly what I had in mind for my build, except I want a pond. I just broke ground today! going to look at your other videos for more inspiration.
Excellent quality video all around with sound, etc. I liked how you mentioned some of the small things like bends in outlet hoses and vacuuming out initial debris/dirt. I watch a lot of these videos in preparation for my build and I wish the pump size was included in their info; it is a mystery and would be so helpful. Thank you, I have subbed.
Well done, that would have to be one of the more natural looking and tranquil sounding water features. I'm sure its even a thousand times better in person.
Friction loss is a huge and underestimated factor when designing for maximum water volume. I always fabricate my bends in rigid PVC pipe when I wish to optimise water flow/volume. Whether that be 50mm or 100mm diameter pipe I never use a 90 degree elbow and I use a plastic welder and welding rod to join the pipe after removal of the segments thus I can create the radius I require.
Shouldnt the plants be planted inside their plastic basket to prevent rexpansion either of their root system or even the plants themselves preventin them from dommain ing the structure?
Thanks for all your comments and compliments. We tend to plant direct into gravel so the plants hoover up as many nutrients out of the water as possible. We look to use only non invasive easy to manage plants. You can however plant in baskets if you want, especially if the habitat is maximized for biological filtration regardless of planting
Great job (waterfall and video). I will certainly be watching some more of your videos. I have 3 questions. Which spillway did you use? I couldn't find a small spillway where the hose enters under the spillway and ended up using a Pontec Pondofall. Also, which rock yard did you use? It looks a great place for rock supplies. And finally, what would you recommend as a high quality filter media (like the one you used in the video)?. Thanks.
Hi there, really enjoyed your vid. Just to get some idea about sizes here i general if you don't mind. How is the lenght and width of the waterfall element and its height approximately? Maybe I missed it in the video itself
nice video and good job on the pond. how is the underlayment called? it looks sturdy, i'm haveing trouble finding a good underlayment myself, can you please help me out?
Hello I spend a lot of time in the garden due to my m.s it’s my sanctuary . I would love a small waterfall and stream in it. It’s only a small garden but it’s so important to me and the wild life.I Just don’t know where to begin. I live in the Northeast Sunderland. I was wondering if you know anyone who you’d recommend in this part of the u.k to build one as good as quality as your own..with few problems as possible 👍
That's a really nice pondless waterfall. I'd love to know where that rock yard is, I've been looking for some large rocks/stone for my garden for ages but can only find small stuff locally :(
Well done! I will be starting my own small waterfall very soon.- Foam- when I saw the first mention of Foam- I imagined the spray-able, expandable type in an aerosol can. Do you ever you ever use that type of foam- or only the hard pressed as in the video?
OK in UK litres per hour, around 12,000 is fine for this size of water feature, although I used a pump with variable flow and adjusted to taste / season.
Hi how are you? I'm looking at starting water features for my business, would you mind letting me how much you would charge for a feature like this I'm crunching numbers to see if it is viable? Your attention to detail is excellent by the way!
You can consider an outdoor water resistant socket! We have a permanent electrical supply fed to the area where we build these things such that we can then plug-in water ever devices required such as pumps and lighting. How is yours looking now?
Usually flat or angled back away from the direction of flow. If you angle them down you get too fast a flow which clients tend not to want as it's too 'hectic' lol
I like that, “the day in the life of a pond builder” I can see it’s a hard day with all those rocks! I couldn’t get down there to pick them up with my hip.
Thanks. It was filmed over about 8 days, these things take way longer to build than people realise unless thrown-together and/or with a team workforce.
