"In the Comments, all the New Zealanders said it was an Aussie, and all the Aussies said it was a New Zealander. So no-one wants to claim this guy..." ~ Ryan (1:55) ... Me: "Damn Straight!"
Ha! Neither country will acknowledge him as one of theirs! That's hilarious. I wonder if this will be a compromise: the captain is a Welsh-born Australian sea captain who served in both the Royal Australian Navy and the Royal New Zealand Navy before finding new work in Los Santos. That's what I could come up with for him.
He sounds like certain country regions of Aus I’ve heard before. Not the same as, but a bit like Chips Dubbo in Halo. Sound almost like a stereotype in among the American accents, especially when it isn’t a Melbourne or Sydney accent. I mean, most Aussie’s even think the Adelaide accent sounds weird, and don’t quite recognise it. Without the Adelaide context given already, many would call it a close but not quite attempt, because of their expectations being region based. The removal of the regional context really makes it stick out as well when you expect the most common version of the accent you hear as the “standard”
@@CommissionerManu As someone from country regional Australia, it is absolutely an actor trying to imitate a stereotypical Australian accent, which are almost always a weirdly overdone mix of Aussie and New Zealand accents
When I started watching achievement hunter Ryan hadn't had kids yet, Matt and Jeremy wernt working there, Jack and Geoff were still doing halo reach funny moments. Now Ryan has gray hair, geoff and ray are out, Michael has kids and is married, Jeremy and Matt or in every video, and Trevor is the boss. Change is a crazy thing
@@gamermanPS3 He's not gone entirely, but he's not actively making videos anymore. It's been like 2 years almost now. He's advanced in the ranks of the company.
"I thought i was getting to the surface but the boat i was going for was sinking and below me" gavin free the man who cant tell the difference between underwater and above water
was he drowning? the air meter is still ticking down so I think its like Gav said, the water is a kill zone strangely enough. never realised it was a mechanic.
@@sudanemamimikiki1527 mate, im an australian who lives on the coast. Surfing is all there is to do here. Even after being tossed in a washing machine or barrel it only takes a few seconds to know which way up us. Anyway youre getting mad at me in real life for a joke i made about a video game character, one of us needs to re-assess their lives and i tell ya what bud it aint me
39:44 Captain Haywood showing the proper evacuation procedure in the event you have to abandon ship over water. Note: applicable to any kind of ship, including airships.
Matt needs to create a game mode where there’s a team that dives off the blimp, and the other team tries to catch them with boats before they hit the water
As an HVAC professional, I can tell you that those rooftop units *probably* wouldn't have exploded like that. It looks like the thing you're supposed to shoot is the compressor, which would've exploded, but it likely wouldn't have had any fire. I'd argue that the sudden release of high pressure refrigerant into the atmosphere would've looked WAY cooler than that pathetic explosion. Assuming that it's R-12 (common in older systems used in refrigeration, i.e. the place is a cold storage facility) it's saturated at about 10°F at atmospheric pressure (14.7 psi). Being exposed to outdoor temperatures of around 70°F-80°F would have superheated it, causing it to boil off almost instantly and turn into gas. Basically, a massive and violent white cloud of refrigerant probably would've been dumped from the system engulfing our players.
Zukaro Travon actually what’s going to happen is they are moving out of that office and into a new one. If I remember correctly the office they are in now is getting way to small for everything so they are just going to move to a different part of the same building.
I love how this game models the air resistance on a flailing body differently than a streamlined body. I think a lot of games would just have the same terminal velocity for both cases.
@@AtelierRobu I don't count that as a promotion, from my point of view of not knowing how other offices are it seems like AH office is the most fun one.
I thought when Ryan was reading the description, I thought he was doing a bit about plotting revenge against Matt while sounding like that captain from Futurama.
i love how gavin thought lighting struck the chopper lol and the end of the video jumping off the blimp is cool would love the see the look on geoff's Jack's and Micheal's face if everyone else did that blimp jump again
It's definitely called "air con" in Australia and it's pretty common here. Though I have survived a >40*C day in my uni accommodation which doesn't have air con, so how necessary it is depends on what you're willing/able to endure...
my favorite thing in this whole video was jermey and gavin 32:40 making strained high pitched noises and saying jeremy and gavin. also when jeremy shoves gav on the blimp.
I was raised In a disfunctional family and I want you guys to know that I think you did a big part of raising me, teaching me values, and teaching me what it means to treat people the way you wanted to be treated
I’ve lived in Australia for like 15 years... It’s definitely supposed to be an Aussie accent but it’s not that bad. He’s too eloquent to sound like a proper Australian
Matt is actually right about the yachts. The rest of the gang is thinking about super yachts. A yacht is just like a super nice house boat. A super yacht is like a mega mansion
Gavin mentioned the Yacht flag, so fun fact. People register their Yachts in other countries besides America to avoid laws or taxes while docking here. Probably why Ryan's yacht has a Scotland flag.
38:54 When Gavin made the insult, "You dipass, ballbagging, knobrot", I went to search the meaning of dipass. On urban dictionary, I love how the example given for "Dipass" is, "man, matt is such a dipass. he wanted to buy my charizard card for fifty bucks." Just thought I'd put it out there.
Matt mentioning a man without a country reminds of a video I watched right before this one about the last Soviet Cosmonaut who was stranded in space for ten months because his country ceased to exist while he was on Mir.
I know it's implied to be the forces against them but I like to imagine that at 12:37, the helicopter heard Gavin say he'd fly and chose to blow itself up instead.
RE diving onto a boat. If you're in CEO or Biker gang with friendly fire turned off, you can fall from any height and land on a vehicle owned by someone in the organization and not die.
As someone who personally knows Australian people, they don’t like it when you say Aussie like Ahh-see. It’s pronounced Ahh-zee, like as in Ozzy Osbourne.
as an HVAC student, can confirm air conditioners are in fact nuclear, a lot of people don't know this it actually takes more training to be an HVAC worker than nuclear physicist
