JASON, O.M.GOD, you have taken the build to another level. It's nice to see that high school boy. Wow, come back to you. Do you remember that tingling in your spine? Well, you just done it mate. Thanks. Keep the videos coming, best regards as always John. North East UK 🇬🇧
When I was a young man my father asked me if I wanted his ID19 Citroen for my first car. The cool factor was irresistible even though my Mom's car would have been a better choice. One of the things that was the coolest about the Citroen was that it had an adjustable air/oil suspension which could be adjusted from within the car from 3" to 16" ground clearance. I would freak people out at stop lights by adjusting the height lever up to its highest position and then dropping it back down, this was around 1972 and I hadn't even heard of Low Riders at the time. Great video Jason thumbs up.
I just found your channel and started watching this build. Great work. I did notice that you have some toe in when lifted then toe out when lowered. You’ll have to make sure your tie rod is parallel with your lower control arm. It’s a common problem with drop spindles. You probably have already figured that out by now. But I fought that on my Silverado for quite a while until I found out what was wrong. Just wanted to throw that out there for you. Keep up the good work and the videos are spot on.
Thank you, Rick! I’m replacing all of the steering linkages so nothing is more than finger tight. Once I get it all swapped out I’ll definitely take a closer look. Thanks for the heads up!
The patina on that truck is superb! Great job with the air ride, it wasn’t quite as involved as I thought it would be. Good luck with the rest of the project, Jason 🙂
Lost video footage? Yep - been there, done that, got the t-shirt. It turns out my problem was a faulty SD card. Now I have 2 backup SD cards, and I shoot on 3 cameras. I might not get "the best" footage, but at least I get something - lol. That truck is gonna be one sweet ride!
Thank you, Mark! I went through a spell of losing footage but it’s been a while. One card it had several unrecognizable files. Maybe the card is my problem.
@@NorthwestSawyer A new card is a cheap option. If it turns out not to be the cause of the trouble, you at least haven't spent a ton of money, and you can always use another SD card.
Jason, yourself loathing of this video is undeserved! This video is better than most you tubers best efforts. Can't weight to see the finished product, but I don't see it as a "sawmill" log truck :) John
JASON!!! Sucks when you gotta fabricate tools (wood dolly) to fabricate parts , to then work on the actual job ! Totally awesome build! I'd say you're ready for "clear coat"... ( after you fabricate the paint booth?) Lol
The first truck I bought when I was 15 was a 1959 Chevy Apache fleetside. I had big plans but never finished it. I’m hoping I’ll get this one done sooner than later.
Echo the sentiemtns that lost footage or no; it was still great to see your progress. And espeically to hear your excitement at the end result..."Dang that looks good!"
Posting something is better than nothing. Nice dolly for moving cab around for mock-ups. Hope you can use your truck to actually do some pick-up & delivery & fly your colors. Hope your sooner w/next truck vid, good watch.
You don't need to apologize for this video. It was entertaining and cool to see. If it was supposed to be instructional you wouldn't have a sawmill and woodworking focused channel. Correct me if I'm wrong. I love watching your work of all types!
Howdy, again, love the work i n progress, say for the clearance of the airbag and frame, when fully deflated, you have good clearance. However, do the bags expand a bit in diameter when aired up?
Really like your work..I have 54 chevy 4400 trying to figure out front ifs..I have a 76 gmc c30 done or 99 suburban k2500. My question how did you get dually wheels on front with single wheel hubs????
Thank you, Rex! I currently have 2” spacers on it but Lowboy Motorsports out of AZ makes widened A-arms that I’m switching to once they show up. Should be any day. I’ll definitely show the install. Stay tuned!😉
Is that considered ok to bring the airline through the upper control arm? I have a 51 that’s done in that way and am worried about the arm rubbing the line
As far as I know. I’m in the process now of running everything permanently. If you have a spot rubbing a line, I’ve seen guys split a section of old fuel line and sleeve the air line. I hope to have an update posted this weekend of everything I’m getting done.
No apologies needed! This high tech fandangled gizmopoly baffles even the most tech savvy young’n! I was born in 1958 and can BARELY operate my iPhone. I’m not smarter than a 5th Grader or a Smart (@$$) phone!
I hope you’re working carefully. Those metal parts hurt a lot worse than a cedar plank. Great work on the truck; video of working on the truck, not so much, lol. 🥸👍🔧👀✅
