In this video I start construction on my beastly abandoned factory. I'm going to try and use as much of my recycled materials horde as possible for this trash terrain titan! Stay tuned to see how this project develops!

My god, this just screams Fall Out!!! I love it. I've looked over those rollers for a while, looks like I need to get some brick and cobblestone rollers soon. Thanks!

4:50 Love how the cat comes over to investigate. As though it's asking, "What's going on over here that's more important than me?"

I have had success using polyurethane wood glue (the brown Gorilla Glue) to reinforce thin plastic containers (used for making a fleet of space ships, domed drink tops with a self-cover button over the hole and a card base, cheap and not too shabby once painted up)

Looking amazing already. The brick pattern clay is making a world of difference to the detailing.

Fantastic video. I could definitely make this work for WW2 wargaming

I learned to add PVA glue to the air dry clay before working with it to make it more flexible and there for less brittle when it dries
@hauntswargaming
@hauntswargaming Год назад
Not a bad idea! I might try that in the future. Have you tried adding glue to the base coat of paint?
@miricoleciona
@miricoleciona Год назад
No. I just add the pva to the clay before I start “sculpting”, and not a determined amount either it was more by feel. I usually use it for my bases since milliput is too expensive. It gets quite sticky as you can imagine but I have never had problems with it.

Oh man this looks amazing! And I'm totally going to use the sand and glue trick for cookie packages. I tried using caulking for that one time but it was too flexible.
@hauntswargaming
@hauntswargaming Год назад
Thanks! I tried caulking too and it was no good. Tacky glue and sand seem to work well so far.

I look forward to your technique for hiding the bubbly polystyrene texture. I'm working on that myself and so far my combination of paint, mod podge, and baking soda is just flaking away.

Super cool set of terrain. I'd say that's very modular. Seems like you could fill a table with that and a bit of scatter. How will you seal the Styrofoam?
@hauntswargaming
@hauntswargaming Год назад
Thanks! That's the goal :p I'll probably use either Mod Podge or gesso to seal it when I start working on it again.

Big compared to other war game buildings, but for a scale building its still small. The last industrial building I worked in would not fit on a 10'x10' table in 1/100 scale.😎😁

That's true, You can always add more sections to it though :p

Incredible work, and the sand technique is sorta genius... what's your plan for covering up all the exposed foam? Or will we have to wait until Part 2 for that
@hauntswargaming
@hauntswargaming Год назад
Thanks! Anything that doesn't get covered up is going to get a coat of mod podge. I'm going to try stippling it on to mask the styrofoam texture.
