Also, I've been looking hard at the IconA5. But I do love your 'out there' flight experience. The flight deck, being so far forward, and the slow elegant fight your craft can take, I must admit I do love it. I need to look at the cost of ownership next. But a beautiful bird for sure.
GREAT video! One day, I also will build an AirCam - even for other people for small money - so, if you want to build one and need help, call/ask me ... QUESTION: what kind of uv-protection did you use? Could you please tell me the name and brand? Because, when I had my quicksilver on floats in the caribbean, I did NOT use any anti-ultraviolett-protection - GUESS, what happend, after less then one year the wing were soft like PAPER !!!
Nice plane. But then there is the little problem of needing a multi engine rating. Too bad we don't have sensible rules like Europe, where you can have more than one engine and constant speed props on a sport plane. I personally find it insulting that the FAA thinks that, even with an A&P rating, I can't figure out how to operate a couple of 582s!
Hi William, thanks for this video. I loved it. I was searching for Air Cam videos. But then I noticed your last name... Rasmussen. Are you related to a Del Rasmussen by chance? Had to ask. Meanwhile, thank you for the great video.
+Kevin Wells Thanks Kevin for your comments but no not related to Del Rasmussen, and I have never done anything that is this much fun and rewarding Skip Rasmussen
you said at the end of the video, it's possible to buy the 4-DVD-Set? How much are they and do you also send them to Frankfurt, Germany? Thanks, regards
At $35 an hour, 50th percentile of A&P Mechanic, Lockwood estimates a build time of 1000+ hours. $35,000 That's just for the labor. The airframe is 60k without the Rotax 912 Engine w/ Propeller package (add another 10k?!).
GeneralSirDouglasMcA if you lived near me I would be willing to help you for about $20 per hour. I have my A&P and work at Lockheed. This kit looks very easy to build and it shouldn't intimidate you all to much. I even see areas that could use improvement.
