Shnazy! A few points if not already mentioned in the comments: 980cc injectors are enough for E85 on a sbe LS1 upto at least 500kw. Walbro pumps are the same from 400-460-525, its the fuel pressure that changes so you might enough have pump for E85 and decent power. If tuned with HPTuners, the factory P01 can run a flex OS. If tuned with EFILive, a P59 (VZ LS1) is plug and play. Oil pressure sensor gauge should remain tee'd into the factory location. Turbo oil pressure feed should from come from the adapter plate above the oil filter. Change the leads to ceramic ACCEL leads. Boots wont be enough (single LS1 turbo life). Plugs for 98 fuel and under 15psi should be BR6EF at 0.8mm gap. Move the passenger side coil pack up to use the bottom bolt holes only. Let the tuner know you have moved the ECT sensor to the drivers side head (Cyl #8) as it will read higher than normal (rear cylinders in LS1s run hotter than the rest unless you have a 4 port steam vent kit). Do not run anymore than 10-12psi with that manifold design as the entire drivers side bank restricts the flow of the rear passenger side (#5 and #7) cylinders. Plug reads will prove this by reading hotter than the rest. Anymore than 2 threads down heat marks turn it down. Keep up the good work!
Coolant sensor is a coolant level sensor for the overflow once you go vz radiator bridge the two wires together to stop the warning light from coming up on the dash.
I ran my Oil Pressure guage from the bottom front of the engine under the alternator, you remove the plate thats held on by to bolts 10mm from memory and you need and adapter plater which i got from ebay to bolt the oil pressure sensor on, ive got a vid I'm pretty sure on my channel on doing it.
You can change the operating system in the pcm to a 02 Tahoe one which has flex fuel enabled and then convert it to 2bar custom os and wire in a flex sensor and enjoy it all! 😉👌🏻
Engine bay is definitely looking SSSCCCHHHAAANNNZZZYYY The build is definitely coming along lads. Hopefully it will be wrapped up before you get exhausted 😝
You can also put a oil pressure sensor next to the oil filter, can buy an adaptor or drill and tap a thread on the current 2 bolt plate on there above oil filter 👍🏽
Lakester headers went on my rod on Friday night. Wrapping this weekend. Will look snazzy! Agree with Nath. Need summer asap as niether of my cars has a roof!
boys! i have no ac in my vz ss ute and its a pain in the ass in a single cab as the air you breathe out in the cab has nowere to go and instantly fogs up the glass and if you drive with the wimdow down water voes straight onto your mirror control, speaker and lap. just my experiance, keep up the good work ya legends 🤘🤠👍
Well done lads very snazzy, the homie Ben from Benny's custom works also suggests painting the header wraps with heat proof paint after they dry for even better heat protection and it also protects from oil soaking if the occasion should occur may be some good advice for next time cheers👍
Oh thats freaking funny Michael, its going to look like its wearing a GIMP SUIT, I can tell you that it will look bloody SNAZZY, great progress on the car, cheers MEN, you guys are freaking legends
Love the build gents. Great work. MSD do a schnazzy set of ignition leads that are a slimmer body than the standard ones and are also "flexible" so can be bent somewhat out of the way from headers and manifolds.
lookin SHHHHHHnazzy boys! Great work as always. Just a crazy idea I had in my head, on the topic of merch (your jumper is my most comfortable and favorite) I was wondering if there was ever getting a back print fairlane jumper / t shirt eventually? the first ever hackshop car ;) just an idea would like to see it though
Hey boys I know you said you’ve used them before ! But be careful with them metal power steering resi’s, I had one on my ss and it got so hot that it boiled the fluid and blew my power steering pump, Just a thought with the extra heat from the turbo ect! Sick video legends 🙌🏽
Loving the build, it's looking snazzy with all the raceworks heat management. I would recommend however you put heat sleeve on the turbo oil return, a melted oil return isn't fun at all, especially when it's hot. Keep it up, looking forward to seeing it finished. 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
Hey mate on the heat wrap I found metal zip ties come lose u can use wire to hold on the wrap tighter or even a hose clamp hope this helps awesome Build guys 👍 👌
Do those alloy power sterring reservoirs have any internal baffling? I tried one years ago (PWR I think) and it suffered from bad aeration. I ended up returning it and went back to the plastic one.
Yep had the same problem & noticed there is no breather hole in the cap compared to the GMH one. Switched back to the plastic original & groning noises stopped.
The build is looking Shnazzie, but why not wrap the down-pipe as well - that's where it will also be concentrated. Also - I found when doing wrap on exhausts Super Glue across where you cut can help stop the fraying.
Definitely need to heat wrap the power steering lines on the pump. You also may need to change the spark leads to carbon ceramic one, those factory one will melt even in the heat sock.
Can run a sandwich plate that screws into factory oil filter spot and filter screws into the plate and has 2 fitting spots on the side for oil pressure oil temp
Genuine radiator is the go, just went through these same struggles with my VY 🥵 And oil feed from the cover plates on the sump is a common place to put the turbo feed.
How do the warnings pop up? On the lcd display? I'm scratching my head now trying to remember my vy but I could have sworn it didn't have check lights for oil, temp or even engine. Only alt/battery light 🤔
It's generally not considered a good idea to put a 90 degree fitting below the turbo in the oil drain as they can cause pooling issues other than that it's looking pretty schnazzy.
