Oh man! It must have been over 10 years ago I think I met Riley in SLC and he had a skate company with some new truck design. Followed it on Facebook and when they announced selling off everything I thought that was the end of it. Was watching Braille skateboarding today on RU-vid and they always skate funky trucks and boards. I thought man I wonder if I could find a pair of those trucks I saw years ago, it’d be interesting to send them a pair. After some googling I came here to find you’re still at it and actively working on new truck designs. So cool!
Oh yeah, I've thought so many times about if would be worth throwing something together to send to Braille. Would be cool to do it eventually. Or maybe sooner than later? Who knows. Always nice running into people from back in the day. That was really an awesome time.
Locktite can attack certain plastics; gotta be careful of that, and confirm you don't have brittleness in the spots where it's contacted your plastic. Other than that, I don't see an issue with your build
Good to know. I could see that causing problems with the acrylic I'm using here. But ultimately I'm planning on using UHMW, which is far more chemical resistant.
Hey guys, I've been a fan of your channel since 2017 but haven't watch y'all for a while. Ive always trusted you're guys analysis of longboard trucks. What do you think is the best truck for LDP? Ronin, Rojas, Other Planet, Major Arc, Sciesmic G5?
TBH, I don't really have the experience in LDP to really say. Other Planet could be nice for Long Distance Push, but would not have anything to offer for Long Distance Pump. It could be redesigned to be a good rear truck for both either I think, but as is, no. Rojas. Still one of my favorite trucks, but I feel like their ride is pretty harsh. So even though they have awesome turn and great response, distance skating I'd have a higher priority on comfort. They're also very tall. Ronin I think is a good option, good balance of precision, efficiency, and comfort. the caveat is they're a RKP geometry, and LDP isn't necessarily RKPs strongest use case. Seismic, they were designed for pump. I'm sure they have something to offer LDP, but I'm not sure how to get it from them. And Major Arc, I understand technologically how they work, don't have much insight into how they ride.
@@LongboardTechnology Thanks for the response guys! You're the best skateboard nerds ever! I know you guys have used the seismic G5 spring trucks because you have videos of them. Springs make sense for LDP since it allows for direct energy conservation. However Major Arc might have an edge if their rotating wheels design is more efficient. Would love to see you guys do some scientific tests to find out what truck is the best for LDP. You don't need to be an expert to collect data and you guys already have the engineering skills to solve this problem. Plus I bet it would be your most watched video, just sayin 😉
