I’m sorry to hear about your mental health, I’ve been in very low points of my life and gotten the help I needed. I hope you can keep doing what you love and live the best life you can…
Me being in a engineering class for my first year of high school and getting to work with some of that type of equipment and knowing the extensive work and measuring that dosent go on camera really makes me respect these people keep up the good work
I'm glad to see someone out there getting the word out about taking care of our own mental health. Thank you so much. You're really helping people out there with your courage to speak out.
ik i'm 2 years late but my best guess is that it was able to be shattered bc the 2 layers of polycarbonate together doesn't have the same flexibility as one thicker piece. mike shake ran into that problem with the handle of his "invisible katana".
Kudos for taking a fairly generic concept and adding some real flair to it! Nice engineering on display, and the pseudo-infinity-mirror effect looked really cool. Impressive hosting skills too :) Great work Henry!
Ya know James, I think that was the first ever sponsorship message I have ever willingly sat through, fully listened to, and was interested in. Thank you, James. I think I needed to hear you talk about that
I have no idea where else to put requests so I'll write it here, but I'd really like to see you guys do the entire Warehouse 13 arsenal. The Farnsworth especially, it looks like a neat piece and current tech is more than enough to make it feasible!
Yeah. If you had each point of the inner triangle supporting the weakest part (flats) of the outer wall, that would be pretty ideal IMO. If you wanted to attach each of the 5 inner points to the outer center flats, it might be tough, as to actually attach them would be weak points in the poly. Would love to see that design. I think they'd have a lot of trouble in both building it and opening it.
When he was walking around to get everyone’s items to put in the box I was surprised to see all the offices and other people (maybe editors?) that work at Hacksmith Industries now!
Thanks so much for the mental health awareness. One change I'd have made: Rechargeable battery and a wireless charging circuit. As someone who also has depression and anxiety it's great to see more and more people use their platform to say "Hey me too and this stuff is important".
James, of course, your vibrant and energetic personality makes all of the videos so enjoyable. The content is exceptional. Your team did an excellent job keeping your content entertaining in your absence. I think if you continue rotating your cast of “characters” your ideas will keep the channel dynamic. I have enjoyed seeing you grow and execute your genius. This is my first time commenting here. Keep creating excellent content-because you excel at it!
James take care of yourself, mental health is no joke. We don't need you in every video if it's at the cost of your mental health. I'll take you being in a video once every few months if it means your health and well being are good
@@darkast2679 He fully explained exactly what brought him down into a depressed state, though. I think that, though it was a sponsor, it was something he let sponsor them because he could also relate to it.
the fact that you used two smaller sheets of material for the see through part actually increased the strength of the box. they are able to bend and flex more before breaking and thus take much more force. its the same reason why bows are laminated wood and not just one solid piece.
What an awesome project! I'm really honored you chose my project WLED to drive the LEDs, however I would appreciate a small mention of the open source software you are using in your projects in the future. It will make it a lot easier for your audience to recreate a similar project. EDIT: Thank you for adding the link :) Highly appreciated! It makes me so happy seeing what awesome builds my stuff gets integrated with.
Y’all should honestly put this in Canada somewhere with an attached sledge hammer, with a full ride to a local community college! Almost like the gold bar challenge.
@@ImmortalLemon Bro, you kidding? I break things like this for less than 50 cents when i sell somehing at the scrap yard. You just need an axe and not the worst desinged sledgehammer ever.
It’s really important for people with a following especially online to talk about mental health to create a safer world for those who suffer from it. My family has a long history of mental health issues, yet those individuals are some of the best people I’ve ever met. Mental health is not something to be frowned upon.
@Carrie Back Oh, I would say that this video was 'made' quite some time ago. But it was posted yesterday for channel members. It just went live for the rest of their subscribers a few hours ago. Early access to these videos is one of the perks of joining the channel.
James, thank you so much for talking about Mental Help. It is not something that we men talk about enough let alone seek help when we need it. Glad to hear you are working on your mental health and healing your hand.
I'm really happy that James is speaking about things like mental health, as someone who also suffers from anxiety, and then the anxiety sometimes causes depression, it makes me really happy that he is using the channel to not only inspire people with STEAM, but also to reach out to those suffering from mental health issues.
When was just pointing out a mental health exists meant that you automatically support it? Simps like you would believe if he said he was jesus lmao the over exaggeration is insane
@@kyarumomochi5146 im not simping, i just think that its great that he is bringing light to mental health problems because i know how hard it is, i know that im not the only person who thinks this. even him just pointing out that it exists is still great, i know that if i had known more about mental health it wouldnt have gotten as bad. also i know how hard it is to talk about having mental health issues, so yeah
I like it that such channels also take the time needed to Adress mental health problems, because it is an important topic that can trouble anybody no matter their Status, role or Job and it should not be alienated by anybody. So thanks for spreading awareness 😇
Folks, here you see an intern living his dream. To see him in the beginning playing with everything he's no doubt been clamoring to get his hands on is pretty fantastic. I'm EE so I only used Solid Works in one class, and I really enjoyed that software.
Very proud that you are looking after your mental health. I will continue to support you. 😁 Well done for making your priorities about your mental health.
I wonder if having an inner surface of aluminum fused to any steel would help with heat distribution and release, keeping bits from melting? Of course, filling it with halon or CO2 would also help put out any fires on it- or something that maybe reacts to heat by creating CO2?
I can't believe they thought out the whole entire thing, and no one thought that maybe an indestructible giant cube project would better fit the Companion Cube rather than the tesseract
;et's be honest, there's gonna hgave to be another one if they want one that's *indestructible.* can't believe they went with *spot welded* sheet metal covers over bolted construction. everyone at the gym (save a few) just kept wailing at the elastic af sides... pretty sure any one of them could have gotten in if they focussed hard on the corners and were given a wrench to go with the hammer.
I did not know about your issues with mental health and wellness James! Glad you are taking the time you need. Please prioritize it, as mental wellness is itself a mentorship and community effort. :)
@@m.b.4165 you can harden the steel by repeatedly hitting it and thus make it brital, at some point the steel will just give up, the PC is just way too flexible
If you want to counter the Lightsaber/Plasma Cutter, maybe it's worth trying to get a hold of a Bismuth/Steel composite material with higher durability metals mixed in. Bismuth should nullify the plasma properties of the two due to its lack of conductivity, and as a result reduce their effectiveness on the Tesseract. Quite a dangerous idea though, properties are still being examined.
I wish i was an engineer, im just a fabricator, trained not educated, and these projects really get my jealousy juices flowing, absolutely beautiful and unnecessary, love it.
