Yeah… It was a good video, but the title is a little misleading.

I would guess that limitations on time meant that we couldn’t see the door and frame construction in detail. But I agree; that would have been the most interesting part for woodworkers. It would also be helpful for other career woodworkers to have such an in-depth video to show prospective clients so that they can say “this is why your table or door costs what we have quoted. Look at all the labour, materials and care that go into making a bespoke piece”

Hi Col. Mouldings are on the inside as yours are.

@@bradthomas8711 from what looks to be held in only by double sided tape (I could be very wrong), and if they’re inserted from the inside, then they could be quite easy to kick in from the outside.

@@ozzygilliam9194 Hi Ozzy! It is actually a 2 side closed cell self adhesive tape we use. Surprisingly enough, once the panels are set on the tape, they are almost impossible to get out. We put a panel in wrong once, and what it took to get out was truly surprising. We pushed we pried, and pulled. Then beat on it with a dead blow, and it would not come out. In the end we had to take a blade and go in from the side and cut the tape. Finally we got it to release. We do pin nail mouldings in from the inside as well. It would still be way easier to just break glass and reach in and turn the handle. That is if there is glass in the door to break... In the end, we could make doors that you couldn't drive a tank through, and then there is a giant picture window 3 feet over. To me, people sometimes have an unusual expectation of the level of security a entry door should offer, when there are many other easier places to break into a home if that's your thing

I have had a solid 3.5" door for the past 35 years and it will warp. In Quebec we get some 'chilly' temperatures and although the warp is only about 1/8" is still makes sealing difficult. Any suggestions as to the best weatherstripping to use ? Also we have three hinges which frost up on the inside, when the outside temperature reaches -20C which lets us know its cold outside, but maybe the hinges on a solid door should some how be isolated or insulated.
