Raced the cars in Cub Scouts and we did it on a wooden track plus we were allowed to keep our cars in between races and I kept my car in a shoe box and put graphite in the box ....The whole time between races i would Rock that car back and forth in that graphite and man it would fly keep it on the tires they are so much faster....I placed every year I did the shoe box trick ....As the years went on a lot of people were using shoe boxes..😂😂😂...Loved the vijdeo

I watched a video of Cody the other night he was making a pair of cow ear tag earrings for the lady that cuts his hair an he was talking about his temper n how he can b stubborn n hold a grudge it just reminded me of myself an his sense of humor his sarcasm im very sarcastic myself n alot of ppl if they don't kno u they don't kno how to take u I guess but cuz im that way I fully understood him from 1st short video ect that I watched n the way he is with his wife or they r to each other my mom n dad were like that with each other it cracks me up im glad I stumbled upon their channel I just started watching them maybe 6 or 8 weeks ago n I really need the laughter rt now having a hard time n life rt now so the prayers n things help me rt now so I appreciate them

My son was in Cub scouts for one year and for his pinewood Derby car I ended up building it because he didn't even like Cub scouts. So I asked him what he wanted on his pine derby car and he said Captain America so I painted Captain America on his car I should send you a picture don't know how or even if you'd be interested

Great video!! Definitely had some good times growing up in church and racing pinewood derby cars!

When me and my brother did ours in the 80's my dad got some space age lubricant from the TWA overhaul base in KC. We just put one drop on each wheel, and we won by such margins I'm surprised no one accused of us cheating.

My kids participated in RAs and raced cars. Our association also did sailboats, planes and turtles. Boats were raced in a 10 ft gutter and kid used a ping pong paddle to make wind. Planes had a rubber band powered prop along a fishing line.

I was robbed back in 1977 at my cub scout derby. I made it to the finals...me and one other competitor. 3/4 way down the track I had a 1 car length lead when it hit the seam of the wooden track and bounced completely off of it and on to the floor. Instead of a do-over, they said that was the final result. Man I tell you what, you've never seen a 9 year old boy going up to the adult officials looking to give them a piece of my mind with gusto like I had that morning. To this day I get all all red and wish for payback when I think about it.

I am from Ohio and we use to do pine wood Derby in Boy Scouts. We even did a boat race a couple years. They had PVC pipe cut in half and filled with water and we had to blow on the sail to make them move. It was fun too but it definitely wasn’t a pine wood derby!!!

You should do a car that’s called “JUST Like BUTTER “ And another car next time in honor of your milking cows, or your cows, and call it! “ COWABOUNGA” and give it a cow, print brown and white or black and white lol. Keep on ranching.

I grew up in Southern Utah in the 70s and 80s Now my family lives in Northeastern Utah. I have had some great cars. I have 4 brothers so my dad built us are own track to practice with. We had a lot of fun racing as brothers.

Great video you guys. Really enjoyed watching it. Loved the car collection. My son was in boyscouts, and we did pinewood then. Did one that was like the bat mobile which was cool I myself had a blast with it as well. We are from Southern part of Ohio. Alot of country lay out n farm land. Really enjoy watching you guys ❤

I envy you and your family. Unfortunately I never got the chance to do build any of those cars and race them. My dad thought that doing things like that, was "frivolous", and "a waste of time when there is work to be done" (even when I was just a little tike). And my sons never got the chance either. But that was because by the time my oldest was 6, my wife had divorced me and moved her and the kids away.😢

My daughter made a pinewood racer in school. I kept it and still have hers. She is married with two girls now. We all live in the upstate of South Carolina except for my son who married an Alabama gal and they have two daughters and the oldest daughter is expecting which will make me a great grandpa. We can't wait.

I remember those times. So much fun! New subscriber here so you may have already mentioned this, but I'd love to know the story of how you guys were able to buy land/property and begin the dream of having a Texas ranch? I wonder if that's something feasible for other people to do who might aspire to transitioning out of a day job and over to ranching. I can only imagine that's expensive and challenging. (Maybe a loaded question but wanted to share my curiosity.) Thanks! Keep on ranching!

you want the balance point to be 1 inch or less in front of the rear axels with the wheels on. MUST do sand the axles from 600 to 2500 grit sand paper. The lighter the wheels the faster the car but this may break the rules. wedge shape cars are fastest.

We done this in schools for shop class for a few years. But ours had a hole drilled in the back side so a Co2 cartridge could fit in it and we had screw in eyelids on bottom to put on a string line and then they had a deal that would puncture the co2 and take off it was cool
