Hi, Bob. Great video. First, let me say that Daniel's PLA 20V8's are great. His fuse maps are perfect. I don't want to disparage his work in any way. I thought you might want to know, however, that several of us in the retro community have been having some trouble with them and it stems, not from Daniel's design, but from unreliable / faulty Lattice GAL 20V8B's. I've had several either bad from the start (couldn't blank check or program them) or that went bad sometime between building them and installing them in a C64 (tested good after build and then wouldn't work when installed in a machine I was repairing). I ordered a few do-it-yourself kits from Daniel and one of those went bad. Daniel gets his GALs from "a reliable source" and sends them to you pre-programmed (I don't know what supplier, but not AliExpress as he doesn't trust them). I've also done exactly as you did, ordered the PCBs from PCBWay and got my GALs through AliExpress and a few have failed (seems to be about 20-30% failure rate). Captain Commodore has also experienced issues (youtube.com/@CaptainCommodore). There was another manufacturer for the 20V8 GAL, Atmel, who unfortunately have also ceased production on them. I've got some Atmel GALs on order from China, but don't know when they will arrive. I'm going to test them and see if they're any more reliable than the Lattice ones. I'll probably post a video on that once I have some results to share. Just wanted to give you more information. Keep up the good work.
