INSPIRING! The more I watch you the more I want to get out in my shop and do something with oll my latent projects. I am unfortunately stuck in the city in Alberta but I hide out and pretend. Thank you.
@@ratrodsafrica the pleasure is all mine. I love your work. Nuwe blink goed maak my naar. One day when I'm big, I'll own as many and as varied a set of clamps as you have. 😜
👍👌👏 Very well done again. Especially the modified screws/bolts look nice and way better than the original ones. Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and health to all of you.
greetings from the US.. just found your channel today and watched all the rat truck vids non stop.. i have a 51 GMC and im really digging what you are doing so far
Great workmanship, you have more tools than some and less than others! But you see visions working with metal too save old treasures to make newborn for years to come.
Div, Those hinges came out great. when you started I was thinking surely those are meant to be at the bottom...But when you fitted them on I could see where you where going with it. Awesome...mad max, middle evil style braces as well. looks cool. ANXIOUSLY WAITING NEXT EPISODE!!! THANK YOU AGAIN FOR SHARING.
I found a bunch of old square head 1/4" bolts for my 50 Studebaker Rat truck. they look awesome. As far as being old school and using a manual ratchet, I'd say you and I went to the same school!
I love those old Chevy's I've had a 53 and a 55 1st series looks like the 54 that was my favorite I should never have absolve it but I needed the money damn you've got some cool hinges I really like him a lot that's awesome for a rat rub that's perfect nice job thanks for the videos we're really enjoying
Truly a good custom bonnet for the Chev ute. Love the custom hinges, I had this idea it was going to be like a hidden piano hinge, but like you said the industrial look suits the theme. The Chev pick up is getting very hard to find in Australia, what is it like in Africa.
Thanks man. It is a 5mm (3/16)flat bar strap that I tap the thread into. The strap sits below the sheet metal, so in the end the sheet metal edge of the bonnet is sandwiched between the hinge on top and the flat bar strap below.
You got two Texas thumbs up!!!! You are spot on with those hinges. Love the way you angled them and made the bolts look like rivets. I’ve seen some $40k-$50k ratrods built on tv, and they weren’t half as good as yours. You really have a great mind for this. Or maybe it’s that thinking chair. Lol! You ever thought about giving out an address so fans can maybe send you some supplies? Keep up the great work. I’m on the edge of my seat to see what you come up with next. I wish you had more of the grill pieces to go up higher in the middle. I think that would be sharp.
TWO Texas Thumbs up! I'm honored Harold!😄 Glad you like them hinges man. Thanks for the great comments. The problem with an address is the fact that it is in Africa... The postal system here is pretty broken... Stuff will probably never get here. We use private courier companies to move stuff around, but it is relatively expensive. Got some plans with that grill - keep an eye out for the next video!
Excellent work man! I watch your videos for inspiration on my own truck. Love how you think outside of the box and your methods to the craft are great.
I find impact and air ratchets good for removal, but feel better with hand tools for positioning and tighten, it's looking great, all the best to you and your loved ones
Hi Tony. Really appreciate the thought, just wondering if it will ever get here... The South African postal service is notoriously unreliable and stuff often goes missing...😪
