Bright! Great video. It was interesting to see and compare construction methods. In Mozambique after digging the foundation trenches we do the footings and columns then we apply big rocks on the floor followed by compaction before the concrete is applied then we start the block work. Furthermore, the rebar across the foundation Is more to prevent floor cracks especially if your foundation is very big, the are not load bearing unlike were the bricks for the walls sit. Very wise to have rental properties on the first floor. Enjoyable video, well done. Krone

Bright ! Great Vid. I noticed in Africa you will use large amounts of concrete filled "filler space" between heavy blocks to create walls. In the USA they use approx. 16x8 concrete blocks with 1/2" in between but I notice in Africa it can be 2-3 inches at times. Just curious to see if this is code.

I'm not sure if he got it wrong or it's how they call it. What I know is German "floor" which is building wall before casting floor slab concrete (btw not sure if it's still a German thing). I won't advise that since the floor needs to hold. In fact the floor for storey buildings need a wire mess for floor slab. People just cutting corners. You can see he didn't even add a floor belt for slab to cut cost
Thanks for watching, German concrete is terminology used in construction. Its either German concrete or oversite concrete. I'm not aware of traditional concrete.
