Ohmygosh! This brought tears to my eyes. It saddens me As an African American, I was so proud that the Liberian constitution only allowed us and black Liberians to buy land. I never dreamed they were letting the Chinese come in and destroy the land. I planned to build my home there, now sadly I have to rethink and maybe go to another country on the continent. I was so excited about Liberia. But like so many other countries, they are letting outsiders take over. Tears and disappointment.🙁
The system that rules over every so-call countries on Earth are to be blamed. All of our so-call leaders works for the system including all of the countries/corporations in Africa. The Earth was given into the hands of the wicked for a time. THE CREATOR BLESS
Everyday we are talking about blaming the government. No government has done anything for any country. It’s the people that move the government. When the people take the stand, the government is ONLY backup
@@PaNutBegSeedI’m in the BenTown area too. Tell me the plan because I don’t have no issue shaking stuff. The poor Chinese leave China to look for wealth and we are afraid to confront them. They are poor from China. The rich people don’t leave their home to seek wealth.
The community needs to come together and sue the government of Liberia and those Chinese people. When we start suing the government of Liberia for negligence and damages, they will put Liberians first. Those Chinese should not be mining rocks and sand, that job should be for Liberians to do and improve our economy.
This situation is detrimental to the environment, and it's crucial for the community to unite and prepare a legal challenge against the Chinese. They are not investing but exploiting Liberia and its people, which will lead to severe environmental consequences in the long run, including soil degradation, and constant sea erosion, etc.
Given the previous administrations' inaction on this matter, it remains uncertain what the newly elected president and their team will achieve. Previously, I had a strong desire to return and contribute my ideas and expertise to the country's betterment and enhance its reputation. However, my enthusiasm has waned considerably, and I am now less inclined to do so.
Well said my brother. I been saying this for a long time. We continue to spell stupid in capital letters to those people. IT IS ABOUT TIME THE CITIZENS STAND THEIR GROUNDS. NONSENSE.
We are currently bringing out the attention of the government, and if you know any representative contact information, please share it, and we will share it with the audience.
This's one of the repercussions of the deals the Liberian Government has undertaken with foreign nations such as the Chinese. One thing we can do as Liberian and Africans is unite, investigate, and understand the deals agreed upon and see if its of any benefit to our country/communities. In this case, it is clearly not. Therefore, let the community gather and write a partition to the government of Liberia against such a neglectful and horrible act by these people. Thank you for raising awareness.
Africa needs to STOP exporting resources and start nourishing talent and exporting products and services. Resources are finite, they will disappear over time and leave you with a degraded environment while these folks walk away rich and building up their own countries. Where is the Ministry of Lands and Mines??? Your country has resources? GREAT, keep them for yourself and only sell at a premium.
We need to bring awareness to this issue. Something has to be done. We do want foreign investors but not those who abuse, mismanaged our resources, and cause environmental issues that our children's children will have to deal with.
@OnikeDavies I'm looking to organize something in December where we all can go either on the radio or to our local representatives' office to either protest or voice our concerns. Its getting out of control and will only get worst.
My honest opinion I think that the Chinese investors are not destroying our government policies they are trying to develop better homes and businesses for our fellow Liberians members and residents for our leaders.
I was surprised to see a huge fence opposite my one lot in Ben’s Town few weeks ago. They told me it’s a Chinese crushed rock factory. And people are mining red dirt on my land without my permission. Thank you for bringing this to the forefront my brother. This is not good‼️
We need to have our youtuber create a video on this, share it on social media platforms. The more awareness and light we shed this issues, the more we can protect our properties back home
Since the government is silent about this it's time the community dwellers group themselves and take some legal action. Their actions will raise the attention of those government officials. While sitting with grieve and encountering destruction, it's time Liberians who are facing the reality of these action take some bold steps. Hints to a wise is quite sufficient!
We appreciate you sharing this serious problem with us. We need to let the government know about the situation. Talking will not solve the problem. Those people will never allow Africans to do this in their country. We should hold our elected officials responsible for what's going on in our country.
I absolutely agree. I'm in the process of hiring an attorney. I'm not looking to win any money but simply bring awareness to this issue in our country.
Yes my brother, the same thing is happening in my home area in Harrisburg. They are digging and spoiling the road going to Harrisburg. They can't even put some of the rocks they collectind from Harrisburg. Why? Let our people stand out for us.
We need to bring this to Boakai attention, we shouldn't stop talking until Boakai do something about it. I'm trying to build my in house in Marshall. I guess I should sell the land then.
This is a very serious issue. The impact on our environment can lead to health issues, destruction of houses, earthquakes, or even vacanos. We need to bring these issues to the light. This will never happen in China by Africans. Why do we keep allowing it in our country? Red dirt, crush Rocks mining can erose the soil and impact surface water or even wetland.
There is no regulation in place. Liberia seems to be a lawless country. Apparently, the laws we have created are not properly enforced to protect its citizens. And we are not even mentioning health issues in our children, destruction of property and etc
Why didn't the Liberian people complain when the Ministerial Complex, the Tapata Hospital, th various other projects were being built? The Chinese are now taking pay!!!! Hmm!
This's so sad 😭😭😭 our government put their pockets first before the people. Shame on them. Like you say you will take a stand some of us are on board. I hate the way our government always putting other people before us. 😭😭😭😭
Thank you. I'll be filling a lawsuit against the company, and I'm planning on inviting BBC Africa. This is an environmental issues and rightfully so, a human right issues.
My brother thanks so much for your special show. Look to your question, you can't blame these foreigners alright. even in Guinea (Conakry) ,where I am presently, to your question. That can't happen. For Guinean to sell thier lands to Chinese to extract resources and carry to China, only in Liberia that can happen. And just what you rightly said, the privilege that the white man getting in Liberia, they can't get that kind of privilege in any of our neighbors countries around us. That because of the types of people we elect to power. And lastly this is why we that truly love mama Liberia, need to rally our hands behind the old man that God gave us as president of Liberia. To change many, many things in Liberia that continues to carry our country behind. And so for that to happen, there is a need for the war and Economy crimes court to be established in Liberia. And every well meaning Liberians should support the process fully.
This can cause serious environmental issues down the road. You are looking at earthquakes, environmental degradation, water population, and many other issues.
This is why we shouldn't just sit and do nothing. We should ask questions of the past and present governments: Why is it that Liberians must suffer the consequences developed by someone else? Why is it that the authorities are doing, sitting on their mouths and not hearing people out? why is it that Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental, Has not been carried out to see the impact on humans, and the trauma they will face? Is this business profitable / have an advantage/disadvantage to the Liberians/ government/ or another corrupt agent linked to the project whereby all is locked in for what it is?
I am not a natural Liberia but I am married to a Liberia for 31 years and is building a house near Marshall. I am seeing what the Chinese is doing to the country over all. The agreement with government to import rice and not let others to import large amounts of rice. That stuff must stop.
Thanks for the video. Where is the Representative/MP for that constituency? Liberian need people with brains to take over that country. Liberians keep voting the wrong people in office. A population where majority of it's population is uneducated, and the few educated ones don't care, and the ones who care are not given chance/ or the opportunity to help move the country to the next level. It is really sad what those Chinese are doing. No Liberian dare do certain things in their neighbouring African countries, not to talk about China. Those of you who have property there, should not wait for the government. You are the government. They are mining sand as well. This nonsense needs to stop.
As a people we will take some of the blame and i mean some because there are a number of our brothers and sisters that take the little crumbs they are given( given the options, can you blame them?). However, the majority of the blame should be put on the government. Who checks up on these companies, what restrictions are they given and what are they allowed to do with these contracts. You have creators being created on these lands and nothing is being done. They are giving bags of rice and a few thousands of dollars to these communities, I cannot imgaine what they are giving to the people that can actually to something about these things the Chinese ppl are doing in Liberia. Brother I pray that you can do something. But you need to take some of these officials to the site. These are politicians and if they are anything like the ones in the US, your gonna need a force behind you and it needs to start in the community. God bless and thanks for sharing
Everyone watching this video, please share. This has to get out because this is sad as our future is being destroyed right in our presence. PLEASE SHARE
I pity your concern. But my brother we Liberians don't love the country God bless us with. Some Liberians rather support foreigners than their own. Lack of patriotism.
Question how much money did your government recieve to even allow them to even be there to do this is what you need to know to many things that or hinden from the people you do know money talk reguardless what the people feel or think amen
