This is hands down the best tutorial/build demo I have ever seen on any subject and I have seen a lot. Haven’t welded in 20 years but saw one of these in action and had to have one. When I looked them up online and saw the prices I decided to build one. I was kind of winging it until I came across your video. I learned a lot that I can apply to my own design. Thanks
Grinders are only dangerous if you don't know how to use them or get too cocky in the way you support or cut. Hanging your face over the vertical cutter is risky, guard or not. Guards give operators a sense of security that can breed bad habits. I have worn out thousands of 100mm x 1mm cutting discs, cutting up to 12mm steel plate and large, thick box and pipe sections and never had a disc shatter. Not due to skill but secure hold down, firm two handed tool control, cutting over the job, valueing my sight and a healthy fear/respect for the tool and what can go wrong if I show it any disrespect. What a wonderfull device we have here to save our time, money and allow us to build anything at home from metal.
Looking at getting a plasma cutter I looked at the r tech what model have u got and do u rate it, it’s so refreshing to hear an English accent on a bbq build as I watch so many videos on RU-vid who are all Americans I have no problem with that but the measurements are are all imperial. That ingraving machine is the nuts
Its the small one, 30A. Its good, but I think all plasma cutters suffer from the same problems, when using them by hand. They are quite hard to operate and get good results from, unless cutting very thin metal. You gotta go exactly the right speed, and you ahve to change consumables a lot. I cant stand imperial units, its such a stupid way of measuring things. its fine for estimating how big something is, "About six inches" but really has no place in anything that needs to be precise. Too confusing and old fashioned.
