Loved this discussion. Nino, you are way too humble, your work is great and you are painting for all the right reasons, because you NEED to paint. Nicholas, I also really like that small 12x12 you did, love the colours, it has a lovely 'happy' energy. Thank you both.
Excellent interview. That's a very interesting (and awesome) palette for Nick. I love Nino's creamy, luscious paintings. His titles always make me hungry.
This was a privilege to hear. Two artists who exemplify personal style, yet the fundamental process is so similar. We can't help but express ourselves when painting spontaneously. Something that can be a struggle for deeply conventional painters.
Best podcast ever! And the art you both created…… so Inspiring! Nick, your podcast art is so different from your ‘gallery’ art. Love that. Nino, I love your story and your art. Two very talented artists. ❤
what a wonderful conversation. I was cracking up though when Nicholas mentioned coming from Jakarta and going to Missouri. Humor! Thanks for this delightful podcast to both of you.
Really fun to see you two talk about the healing benefits of the creative process and the value of sharing! It resonates as I also always looked at my creativity as a practice, like yoga, meditation, and walking. My career path include this 'remedy' for healing emotions. The creative process produces deep healing!
Absolutely awesome episode. Love Nino's work and entire approach to making art and supporting artists in his community. And Lukas paint is excellent....slightly different color hues and nice consistently.
I’m in Indonesia at present, and now I’m thinking of home in Australia and missing the local farmers’ market. The bread, local cheeses and veggies etc. etc…
I used pyrrole red, cadmium red and naphthol red in a solid three colour pattern with blocks of the p and n over the cad then added blocks of teal and turquoise which was truly vibrant but gave me a migraine painting it.
You mentioned being in Eugene Oregon. When? I live here. Are you showing work? speaking? -Loved this down-to-earth video and all that was talked about! Very inspiring and also practically useful information.
