@@Kman.0507 agreed. civic still remains the easiest car to get into building. so many parts, super popular. ive been doing builds out of scrap yards for over 20 years. you dont always need the newest freshest stuff to make a nice car
Or get you a 2003 Honda accord, comes with a k24a motor and honestly is my first love. Easy to fix, fun to drive, and a eye catcher with the right minimum mods🥶
I think the engraving art is really cool and I think if you are ever switching out engine parts (that are visible from opening the hood) you should try and incorporate it. Loving the series so far keep it up
im boutta pick up a civic of my own here this month & i think i'm gonna take your route to build up on it using junkyard & facebook marketplace parts, whatever i can afford! this, to me, is an inspiration that just about anyone can wrench on their cars
This is awesome!!! Love the valve cover. Pro Tip: when you do the wrinkle paint, about 15 minutes after your last coat, hit it with a heat gun and it will wrinkle up way better and looks more gooder lol
Just found this channel last night I love your videos and it inspires me to want to do this myself. Keep up the good work and keep making videos, I can’t wait to see the finished product!
im enjoying the series. i have always enjoyed just going though yards and seeing what could be found and coming up with ideas . if those old cars could talk the stories they could tell nice mother of pearl table you were grinding on too id like to engrave my crvs valve cover
Can't go wrong with white. It's cheap and it looks good. Also one thing that helps me on junk yard runs is I do an inspection on my car and just walk around and make myself a list on my phones note pad for whatever random clips, screws, or parts my car could use to be replaced so that I come up on my visits.
Loving the series. I like how you take something and make it work on your car. Actually pretty inspiring to me. I took a spoiler off a celica and put it on my daughter's sentra.
Been trying to find a decent paint remover for this exact job for my Accord and now I know. Amazing work, crazy good for your first time valve cover engraving.
Dude ive totally been to that pick and pull off 121 many times. The one in South Dallas is alright..Move To Cincinnati two years ago from North Richland Hills and just got a 30 year old VTEC yeah buddy spray painted red top❤❤
This series is fun. I love your engraving. I would've diluted a bit of silver paint and put it in the engraving so it'd stand out more from the black. I think it's a lot of work to go lighter for the body, so I'd go metallic charcoal grey and maybe a purple pin stripe to work with the purple in your new-to-you seats.
Obviously sanding the paint off of the lettering on the valve cover worked, but a little trick that works faster and easier if you want to keep paint off of raised lettering is to cover the raised lettering with a light coat of petroleum jellly and just paint over the entire part. When you are done just wipe the lettering clean. The paint and the petroleum jelly come right off
I love a good junkyard and I like the fact that you use junkyard parts that’s why I like your videos keep it up a lot of people think you have to pay new parts but you don’t thank you for your videos.
I used to find so many bargains here in the uk from junk yards finding loads of cheap parts from jdm equivalents. Such a shame we are unable to this anymore where I live. Good bit of recycling too.
Lovs this series, just wish the UK had more pick and pull yards like this. We have breakers yards where theyve took cars apart and are listing the pieces for almost retail.
Cars stacked up with no support other than hopes and dreams is fucking WILD. Loving the content, champ. Keep it up :) Also you should go back and grab the rear door handles. Run them on the front for front lock delete. WAY cleaner look imo
Hi, I'm from the Philippines. I always watch your videos even though I don't have a car. Hehe, it's very nice to watch from the ugly to the beautiful, so I miss every episode of your videos. I hope you make it more beautiful, especially the car. that's why I always support you in everything
came out fire!! 🔥 next time try and see what it looks like when you go back over the outline with the dremel. would make it stand out more in the engine bay
dang kevin the custom valve cover growed on me i wish the engraving was silver like honda logo and rest with wrinkle black ,inspired to do that on a g13 engine valve cover
I love your content man! You've got this energy that no other car RU-vidr replicates. I gotta take a trip to the junkyard soon myself as I accidentally broke a side light on my Saturn.
Fyi, if you have the oe keyless option on your ride, you could have grabbed the back door handles from the sedan for a "keyless" look. Did it to mine years ago, had to crawl through the trunk a few times casue of a dead battery, but ya know, it was still worth it
Last episode you mentioned torching the plastic which works really well, but depending on how long you plan on looking at the plastic it might be better to try ceramic coating as heating it will only last probably a year to two and then fade more permanently
