Don't ever let anyone tell you you are doing it wrong, you clearly did your research, you learned to weld, you learned to grind, you learned everything and it seems you did it amazingly, enjoy that truck! Best part about building your own is that you will have no issue figuring out if something gets broken and how to fix it. Mad respect for you.

I think if your dream is to build a monster truck, and now you are building one with all the best parts, you can safely say you've made it in life. You were one of the lucky ones but that doesn't mean you didn't earn it, nor does it mean you can't lose it. So enjoy it and keep working hard to keep it, but don't say you haven't made it because if you haven't now then by most peoples standards you never will. Much respect to you and can't wait to see more.

Nuts and bolts are easy. Engine building, fabrication, engine tuning, transmission/differential rebuild is where he might have to call in the professionals. That being said I think he is making good progress on his monster truck build 👍

The driveshaft safety cage isn't for the crowd it is for when the yokes break and the drive shaft comes off and flails around hitting the driver in the ass repeatedly like a sadist.

I've been going through a super tough time in my life and have been thoughts about ending it all. Your message at the end about your dream really helped me a lot. Exactly that mate I’m cringing so much watching this get put together. From a plant fitters point of view I hope those drive shafts are put on correctly and bolts are torqued to correct spec. But it is good content content though I’ll be back for the next one 🤣

As a mechanic, I agree. At the same time though, it’s a learning experience for him as much as it is for anyone else. He’ll learn if something isn’t right. I’d bet in the next ten years, he will know one of these in and out.

Not sure if you didn't show it on the footage Kev, but a decent torque wrench would be a good idea to make sure all the fixings are tightened correctly.

my thoughts too! I also suggested to Kev to Loctite the nuts. I'm no expert so not sure if thats required ? It just seems a good idea to me considering the enormous vibrational energy that will resonate through that chassis from the V8 monster engine i assume will be going into it!?

As fun as this is to watch. A guy that builds Monster trucks for a living, would look at some of these procedures and say, nope that wont work, or nope thats going to break. You need some one on your build team that has built monster trucks. It will save you lots of headaches. Fix the problems before they becomes a real problem and possibly lead to more or an injury to you. Its not just an oversized RC toy.

Make sure that the drive shafts are phased properly, when you took the slip section out of the rest of the drive shaft those two arrows have to point at one another when you put it back together or you'll get a big vibration and could break some stuff

KEV! When you're putting the U joints back on, Use a socket just smaller then the cap. Smack the socket with the hammer instead of the cap directly. Much easier and the cap will go back on much more smoother.

Does it mean everyone should swing a hammer like a monkey? You can easily knock the rollers out with a hammer. Yet you can easily knock them out with your finger as well. Does that mean you should? If you're swinging like Thor trying to drop the hammer. Then yes, you will probably do more then knock the rollers out.
