For someone who said they didn't care about aesthetics, you did a very nice job on the cable management! It's so nice to see a relaxed video that goes into the building of a PC since it is so calming for people who may fear PC building. As for parts, I always felt that rather than the details, so long as you can afford it and it worked out well for you in the end, there is nothing else that matters. Great looking rig btw. Hope you enjoy your rig (and all the future upgrades) for a long time.

pcs are great. it's just nice to be able to switch out or upgrades specific parts instead of replacing the entire thing. my pc has been doing great for five years and the only thing i added was an SSD, and upgraded the fans. everything else still works fine, even the gpu. wish we could do that for phones lol

You should really get some intake fans cuz both the fans that come with the case are exhaust (in case u don’t know, Intake fans take in cool air to cool ur components such as cpu, ram, gpu, etc. and exhaust fans take out the hot air coming from ur parts), so if u don’t have any intake fans ur pc can overheat and cause a lot of problems like, slowing down ur pc, ur pc randomly turning off and it can also permanently damage ur parts, but if u don’t have enough to buy some additional fans, take out one fan from the exhaust and make it an intake so that ur pc has equal amount of intake and exhaust fans

I probably got recommended this because "Genshin Impact" was in the title. Great first time build! Here's some general tips and answers. Smart choice getting a B550 since you planned to upgrade in the future. Most motherboard now only has one ram retention clip that can pull back. Did you install the standoff before putting the mootherboard in the case? For installing the power supply before the mobo or the other way around, it mainly depends on the case, but there's typically no specific order for most cases. Some more powerful GPU requires more power, so more pins are required. Best regards in Genshin!

Don't know if anyone answered your question in the comments, but the one cable with two 8-pins is because some graphics cards require an 8 pin and a 6 pin some require two 8-pins. They also have people who put other cards into their systems that need the power. Great build btw!

Just got this is the recommendations, and I'm definitely not disappointed, really good job for a first pc build, and as a Genshin player myself I can say it's more than a reasonable reason to build a pc

you did really well for a first build :D cable management is reallyy nice, hopefully this build gave you better 5 star luck in genshin ^^ for the graphics cables, there is 2 as the more recent and more powerful graphics cards require 2 instead of one, hopefully that makes sense

For the gpu cable, it comes with two because some gpus require them both. Mine required both

a pro tip: only the LED header require to be +/- on the motherboard... so on/off and reset could just plug it in any direction. Also, the 2nd 6pin+2pin is for those graphic cards with 2 8/6 pin headers like a 3080.

Great video!!! Honestly, I don't think you would need a new CPU fan even if you are trying to overclock. Another RU-vidr(Craft Computing) overclocked their 3600 with a much beefier air cooler and the difference wasn't much unless you care about noise. I believe both CPUs come with the same cooler. I would think the 3600 would be much hotter than the 3100 because of the difference in cores.

girl i am really impressed that you built your pc alone but you could have at least put 2 or 3 fans in front of your pc for intake cause you already have exhaust and if you only have exhaust fan that's gonna be pretty bad

2:52 Your lucky you even got the 3100. Its literally going extinct. It was a pain to get mine.

I'm pretty sure someone already told you that, but there are multiple GPU Power Cables because higher end Cards need more, for example the RTX 3080 needs 2x 8 Pins and i think the RTX 3090 can sometimes need 2x 8 Pins 1x 6 Pin but the Older Cards (RTX 2070S etc) need 2x 8 pins aswell.

A trick when you don't have a magnetic screwdriver is to take a magnet (the stronger the better) and to rub it on the screwdriver in order to magnetize it. If this doesn't make it strong enough though, simply leaving the magnet stuck to the screwdriver will do the trick.

i think you did an awesome job with your build. id say maybe add a couple more case fans to get some more cool air in there. but, nicely done! :-)

for those 2 pcie cables which are the graphics card cables, some cards require 2 of the 8 pin connectors which is why it comes with 2 and maybe for sli but mostly people just run 2 different sets of pcie cables for those, but overall a great build for your first time

Yes, both sides of your ram socket should snap open. It's very strange that only one side did on your motherboard, but I am glad that you managed to put the ram in regardless, without breaking anything. Also, when both sides are open, they should snap back with a click when you put in the ram. There is probably something wrong with your motherboard, but if it works ok, it doesn't matter

Man it’s an unfortunate time rn to build a PC. I’m seeing the GPU in your Pcpartpicker list cost around $500, but for $500 you could get a 3060 Ti or even a 3070 if they were actually in stock.

Didn't knew exactly why I got recommended this but glad I clicked on it, it was so oddly relaxing and calm that I almost fell asleep to that soothing BGM lmao. You definitely got lucky to be able to get those parts since the market right now is in chaos, but aside from that, happy gaming!

You can make a magnetic screwdriver by sticking a magnet to it. If you have a strong one you can leave it a few days with the magnet and then even if you take it off, it will still remain magnetic for quite some time.

They give you two 8 pin connectors because stronger gpus require more wattage and may have to use more pins. Another reason is SLI, running two gpus but no one really does that anymore

Hi, this popped in my recommendation, and I'm just saying make sure to download the drivers for your PC like Nvidia etc. Cause their important for new built PC's to make the faster

To know little about computers it's actually a decent build. Some heads up on future upradges: - CPU Cooler: opt for an AIO cooler or a noctua. I would reccomend water cooling since your case is an nzxt and it isn't notorius for airflow. - Power supply: if you want to upradge both cpu and gpu to last gen at some point you will need a beefier psu. Or at least that's what they reccomend. Nvidia 3xxx line up reccomends at least 750w psu so be mindful of that. - Cpu: Since you do videos and edit them you will probably end up benefiting from a multicore cpu and multi thread performance from higher ryzen cpus. Like the Ryzen 5 3500 if i recall correctly. You will want to avoid processors with x in the since they are for overclocking and that means messing with voltages and probably voids your warranty. GPU: you are better of upradging cpu and GPU at the same time to avoid bottle necks. RAM, MoBo and everything else is quite fine. About the name of gpus: yes you don't need to tell every single detail. People who know their stuff will understand with just the numbers and the flagship name such as gtx and rtx or gt. You can even just say 2060 super for example and people would know what you are refering to. Congrats on your first build! And enjoy the pain of running out of stamina in genshin!

reason why people usualy install PSU first and plug it(while the switch on PSU is still OFF) is to ground the case. so you dont accidentaly damage components with static. there is second cable for your graphics card there because stronger the GPU you have, you need to give it more power.

Little tip, next time you can use a strong magnet and tap your screwdriver to magnetize it for a few minutes! I do it all the time

Little advice: AMD Ryzen cpus really love high frequency ram, so check out 3200mhz ram sticks if you don't already have them. Advice number 2: don't buy an hard drive, buy a sata ssd instead. 1tb is more than enough, and it will be a lot faster. The stock cooler is more than enough for the 3100, especially if you don't overclock. B550 are great motherboards, but for a 3100 are a little bit overkill. A B450 would have been more than enough, but if you plan to upgrade the CPU (personal advice: Ryzen 5 3600. It's pretty good) it will be spot on. But hey, pretty good build, congrats on your new pc!

if anyone wants to build this pc, i would say go for the i3 10100f instead of ryzen 3 3100 (DEPENDING ON PRICE, THIS INCLUDES THE PRICE OF THE MOBO), and if you want to spend a little more go for a ryzen 5 3600 or a i5 10400f, and wait for the 3050/3050 ti, instead of the 1650 super
