Immaculate build my dude! Just a few pointers for you: 1) there's a shroud to hide your motherboard 24 pin cable. Use it! It's the metal cutout directly right next to your motherboard. 2) you forgot the peel on the IO shield! Lastly, personally I would use two individual 8 pin pcie cables to power my gpu, not in parallel. (Just personal preference tho)
@HenryHaoVo
@HenryHaoVo 2 года назад
Thank you! - I did try to hide the 24-pin cable behind that shroud you mentioned, but there wasn't a lot of slack on the cable so I was scared it would bend the pins in the 24-pin connector slot over time. I feel like it would be a lot better with some custom cables, maybe something for the future! - I did forget! I'm still really new to video production and sometimes I forget to record some important bits 😅 But I did peel it after the recording :) - Thanks for the tip! Maybe' I'll have to go in and change that 👍🙏

@@HenryHaoVo Be sure to use two seperate PCI-E cables from the PSU into the 3080, I have one and it pulls 320W and the max output on the single daisy chained cable is only 300W. Most GPU manuals will also tell you to use two seperate cables, my 3080 FE did.
@brak9534
@brak9534 2 года назад
@@HenryHaoVo Just like Eric Smith mentioned, each cable is only rated x amount of watts, so for high powered components you should 100% use two seperate cables that are each plugged into your PC's power supply to ensure the limit isn't exceeded. Otherwise, loved the vid.

Watching you build your first gaming PC was really fascinating. It's impressive how you managed to do it with no prior experience, and the end result was definitely worth the effort. As a gamer myself, I know how important it is to have a high-end gaming rig that can handle the latest games and provide a smooth and immersive experience. I appreciate how you took the time to explain each step of the process in detail, from choosing the right components to assembling everything together. It's great to see how accessible building a PC can be, even for someone who's never done it before! :))

I LOVE how all the components always come with stickers to put on your case to show off what you got under the hood. Like the hotrods at a street race with their hoods up. PC building is absolutely intimidating the first time, but by the time you're done, you realize it isn't actually that hard, and the DEEP satisfaction as it powers up is hard to beat. "I did that!" They've done a really good job over the years of making it really easy to put things together.

I know im late, but heres a few tips coming from a 14 year old... 1. When applying thermal paste, you dont have to spread it across, its better to just put a pea sized dot in the center. 2. Your 24 pin connector should be able to fit in that slot located next to it, I know it may be tough to fit but it should be able to slide in once you get the end through. 3. When I build a pc, I usually start by installing the motherboard, and then the fans. It gets the boring screwing in done early so the rest is just fun. (this is based on opinion) Honestly really impressed for a first time build, usually you see the cables everywhere and a lot of problems. Great job, you earned a subscriber.

Great build and you even did the ram placement correct. The only thing i can add is AMD might be sketchy for a first time builder because of the problems you might get and have to fix yourself, the other thing is the AIO, where people often forget about noise levels, and corsair is one of the louder coolers, but that might be a preference.

I did my first build with zero experience recently. I had no idea that case fans spin counter-clockwise, so my Phanteks NV7 has two intake fans and ten exhaust fans. I had to order more reverse-blade D30 fans that will take until Friday, August 30 at the latest to arrive. Aside from not knowing where to plug in the AIO pump power cable, having to get another AM5 standoff screw from Phanteks support when I lost one (yes, I used a lot of Phanteks in my rig, namely the case and cooling components to keep all of the RGB in a single ecosystem), and my piss-poor cable management, my first build went a lot smoother than I expected. It posted on the first power-up, and I flashed the BIOS no problem. Now I just need those new fans, during which time I can fix my cable management.

I built my first PC during the great GPU drought of 2021. I had an issue the moment I turned on my PC for the first time. The PC refused to boot while giving me an error code (I think it was code: 00). So I thought I had a faulty motherboard, but after getting it replaced with a new one it still didn't work. After much deliberation, the culprit was the CPU which I still couldn't believe. The brand new Intel 10th processor was defective out-of-the-box, even though the failure rate is like 0.3% or smth.

I’m about to go through the same thing, and was trying to find a video that suited to me and out of all the damn videos over 15min to an hour long. This is THE BEST video for building a pc without making it very complicated and overwhelming. Great video bro. Loved it and it helped me out a lot cause I’m about to build my PC soon. Not so scared anymore after watching your vid 😄

you said you were confused but you actually did a great job for your first build imho. a tip for future reference is when applying your own thermal paste you don't need to use the thermal paste spreader, squishing down the blob should get it to spread out just fine but you seemed to do everything correct.

@robbphillips2845
@robbphillips2845 2 года назад
Congratulations, I did the same thing twice in the last 4 years, its so fun and easy but expensive, lol .Corsair is very good stuff. And yes at some stage I can see you taking the thermal paste off and doing a smaller amount. Two things I have had happened on my game rig.1 The graphics card started to throttle and get hot after about a year so I looked at you tube and undid the heat sink and redid the thermal paste as the video showed and and it fixed it no worries. It must dry out after a while., The second thing was my 35 inch monitor would give me no signal response some times. So once again YT is my friend and it showed how to take out your ram and using a school rubber on the connections. The gold bits. That also worked. Wish you luck. Well done on the build.
@Slamscape
@Slamscape Год назад
i have the dark hero also. And now EK screwed us over and stopped producing the waterblock for it. Notes. Dont spread the thermal paste, you can make air bubbles and drop the efficiency. let the cooler placement spread it naturally. Your GPU started sagging immediately. But the most important thing. DONT use the single gpu cable for that card. I know the cable has two 8 pins, but for a card drawing that much power you really really need to use two separate GPU cables and only the first 8 pin from each. That thing can literally catch on fire trying to draw too much power from one cable, it DID happen to me.

I used the same case when I built mine back in spring of 2021. It's a monster and so beautiful. I put a 5800X and a 3070 (now a 3080 Ti) though. Will be upgrading to the 5800X3D though as it has a great performance boost for the games I play.
@dominkbarnett9837
@dominkbarnett9837 2 года назад
No No No a 5800x 3d is very good for games provided you get a very high end grafics card. I assure you that the performance difference will not be noticeable. In your position I would wait for 40 series to become available and get a 4070 or 4080. That will give much more performance than just upgrading your processor. I think a normal 5800x 3d will not be needed for a 4070 or evan a 4080 in the future for the grafics cards are quite far behind the CPUs right now, at least for gaming. Video editing is a different story. You don't get a 5800x to get more game performance over a 5600x you get a 5800x to prepare for a new grafics card. I hope this helps you to change your mind. If it doesn't than just remember this when you get 130 fps instead of 120 frames on fortnite 1440p on ultra settings. What you got now is good.
