I've just ordered my 2022 Jimny Safari Special Edition and I am genuinely looking forward to it. But here's the thing, if there really are people out there that have their phone infront of them while driving watching Netflix or anything else on their phone while driving. Please burn your license.
@@LifeofSmokey Im in New Zealand. The model names are Sierra and JX down here. The JX is the one over here without the LED headlights, Touch Screen Stereo Headunit and the full climate control and the Sierra is the one with all the mod cons. The JX Safari is a Special Edition of the JX that comes with around $7000NZD worth of extras for the same price as the Sierra at Stock price with no extras. Its worth it. I dont need all the fancy stuff. As long as i have headlights that work and bluetooth, im happy.
As a guy from the Philippines, we have tons of these in the road and I was confused why it has no backseat. I found out later that the JImny didn't meet the latest emission standards so it was going to be banned in some countries in Europe until Suzuki found a loophole in the law, and that is sell these cars as "for commercial purpose" which have different emission standards, and hence no backseat.
You can buy a matrass from Suzuki that fits the car perfectly if you really want to camp in it, I believe there are some 3th party options that are actually better and cheaper. Most of Jimnystyle's inventory is what's popular in Japan too. The lime green boxes that you got, are sold in Autobacs over here (Japanese equivalent of Auto5). Yes most of it is reboxed stuff, but its easy and you don't have to deal with shipping and import taxes.
Before anything else, install a set of seat covers since this is not your average commuter where the seats are not going to display the evidence of off-road adventures. Since the Jimny can go where most other cars cannot, it is almost a guarantee that sooner, rather than later, the Jimny is going to where other vehicles won't go. This means that the most import accessories are those that will save you the most money in the near future. Number one upgrade is a set of radial cup protectors since those are the lowest points on the Jimny and when bent out of shape are very difficult to correct. The second upgrade is to attach proper recovery points front and back since chances are sooner rather than later, every Jimny will have to be pulled out of some place no Jimny should have gone. These upgrades are very inexpensive considering the cost of not installing them in the first place. From here follows protecting the front and back differentials and underbody protection for the transfer case. No person that performed these upgrades in the first place, will resist the temptation of upgrading the shocks, springs, panhard bars and cross members that will lift the body by five centimeters. You will then discover that the wheels of the Jimny are spaced closed together than other vehicles and in order to follow in the tracks where every other vehicle goes, 32mm wheel spacers are to be added to all wheels which will improve the driving of the Jimny.
It's considered "Japanese vice" to leave those pieces of plastic missing and then sell them separately for extra profit. Those who stop making cars and enter the recycling business in Japan should look to earn a lot of money from the waste plastic they will get for free.
Just booked the new 5-door Jimny which was unveiled in India. Its a step-up from the 3-door.. auto ac, keyless ignition, wireless carplay, 6 airbags and most importantly 2 more doors and more space. Same engine and transmission options though.
If you put it in SERVICE MODE you dont need too pull fuce! On the right side under the dash thear is a service conekter! Brigh the conekter and hold ESP for 8 sek with key on, motor off and start the car , and you ar redy to drift! Dash display shows SERVICE MODE,👍
@@LifeofSmokey yes just put a wire or a paper clip between the lids in the conektor! Black and brounish wire! Thear is a red wire tapt to the conekter, dont do eniting with the red wire! Only brige the black and than/borunosh wire. And drift awy😁👍
Hey Smokey! I am looking towards buying a Jimmy or a used Jeep Grand Cherokee. I saw you have both in your garage. Which is a more fun car between those two? I am a single man of 27, no kids, so space is not a problem for me
you should remove the carpet in the trunk and check if there is holes for extra seats ( I know there are no seatbelts ) and check if the seats aling so you can lay inside
@@enaliospearfishing i do believe there are bolt for backseats yeah. But keep in mind that the car is insured for only 2 people if it's a light version. You can have people in the back but if you have an accident and that person is handicapt you are gonna be sorry 😉.
Oh lord all of this stick on stuff feels like its gonna fall of just from looking at it. I like bolt on stuff. But anyways should have installed a better radio with a large screen (and anti glare) instead of the tray if you ask me.
The Jimny before mine came with a bigger screen radio and build in gps. But because of a world shortage of computerchips they had to put an old bluetooth radio in it 😂. And everything is still in place after 1 year of offroading 😁
Collision control does stop the car and turns off the engine.. Note: driving through a wooded area in 4H does NOT turn off collision control and going through a low hanging branch or bushes might give you a scare :D 4L does disable it.
I have been told that only the first models had the collision control and stop the car. My model is the light cargo version. Does not have all of the electronics the first models have 😁. I ordered some inflatable aliens. Gonna run them over at high speed and see what happens 😎
When are you going to post a new video with your Jimny? Last weekend there was an off-road event at Arendonk where you could have made à great video. Hope you will make another video with the Jimny.
Have you had any joy with figuring out how to lower the rear? I have an LCV and realised 2 weeks ago the seats dont go down all the way, was pretty annoyed.
Yeah fixed that issue. Still have to edit that video but i recorded the proces. It’s just some cheap plastic in the back so i used an oscillating tool to cut the part of that was in the way to fold the seats all the way down 😁.
Sorry for English but the more i speak Dutch the more youtube will suggest my videos in Belgium or The Netherlands 😂. And no you will need to mount the bottom 20cm part only. 2 bolts or something 😁👌
Manual transmission in 2WD or in 4WD it ain't a special deal to the rest of the world except for the Americans. Though one of the largest populated country in the world, according to a study only 13-15% of the population knows how to drive a manual. Two door Jimny was supposed to launched in India when it first came into production, however it was postponed, so Mahindra took the chance to built an all new Mahindra Thar 4WD both in petrol and diesel engine, and launched it early last year and ever since they're being sold like a hot cake. Since Jeep wrangler don't give us the two door variant JL. Only JLU Rubicon is available in the market with a price tag of ₹89+ lakhs = 110+ thousand US $. Regular Rubicon extreme package too isn't available in Indian Market. Jimny being cheaper, more rugged and practical it will do better than the new Thar if it was launched in the late or early 2020s. Five door variant a due to launched next year, but I highly doubt they will sell well.
Great videos man! Just wondering @5:30 did you ever do anything about the seat lying flat.. or is there a solution for that... 2 reasons really, 1: carrying oversized things B: Potentially sleeping flat!
@@jamesrector18 In summer we get max 2-3 weeks of good weather. Then it's storm and rain all the time. And in winter it gets cold but only snows every couple of years IF we are lucky. And when it snows it will melt the next day 😂. It's somewhat the same as the Uk lol. I was thinking about Utah , that looks good in some youtubers videos 😁
