Stephen I work in OO and use Kadee magnetic couplers. Like you I use two magnets beneath the track. They are 20 x 5 x 1.5mm. I use double sided selotape to stick them & separating plastic strips to 1mm card. This means that the tops are level with my cork track bed. Generally everything works well. However, there are two problems. 1. The strength of the magnets can 'drag' an uncoupled wagon forward. 2. When moving forward at a pro-typical slow shunting speed the tension on the couplers is often not enough to prevent unwanted uncoupling. In OO the solution to both problems seems to be adding rolling resistance to the wagons. I have seen this done with a little soft foam between the axle and body or, better still, a small piece of square section styrene glued to the underside of the body and resting on the axle. I am not sure how this would work in N, it might be worth a play. Off topic - I am helping get the LMRG N gauge layout looking a little spruced up for the open gardens weekend. Did you provide the arched stone retaining wall at one end. I need to source some more to carry it further round the scenic area. Can you tell me what the source was? Also the model number - stone type or whatever I need to order some. meltonpieman
