I've bent 2 seconds hands because I used the wrong press. It never occurred to me to use a totally flat press. I thank you so much for your commentary regarding this step. So many other build videos skip over this step or just gloss over it with no real information.

Will do! I would like to buy a few tools, which aren't included in the diy kit, maybe that could be material for a new video? :) or you could get some affiliate links and post them in the descriptions or the comments.

Now that I see it I felt like the blue one looks better than the classic gilt dial
@watchmebuildit
@watchmebuildit Год назад
Hello Bun. These things are a matter of taste. I have a difficulty with the blue one: the colour of the dial and the colour of the bezel do not match. This reduces the appeal for me. I think I would prefer the classic black and gilt

Thanks for the great video. It looks like the rivets on the endlinks can come off. Is that the case?

Hi @Dan T. The rivets on the bracelet are fixed and don’t come off. Thank you for the compliment
@watchmebuildit
@watchmebuildit Год назад
@Dan - I am an idiot! I have only read your question PROPERLY now - yes, the end-links can come off on both watches. I know that the female end-links on the SM are aftermarket pieces which I installed. I don’t believe Namoki offer female end-links for this model yet though.
@moebius-chronicles
@moebius-chronicles Год назад
@@watchmebuildit 😊 Hi, I did actually mean the rivets, not the endlink. i just purchased the bracelet to see by myself and I was happy to see that they did real rivets on this one (more than what we can say for the Tudor one). That said I would not go and remove those rivets.
@watchmebuildit
@watchmebuildit Год назад
😂. What a comedy Dan. Yes - removing genuine rivets would be a ‘one time only’ event.

Quick question for ya Can the movement still be damaged even though it's a movement that's not actually using the date opening on the dial just something I've always wondered about because it's never been mentioned that I could find maybe a dumb question but I had to ask Another fantastic video always helpful Ok one more question is your file a diamond file Now I'm done pissin in your ear Thanks as always my friend and Happy Holidays as well 👍
@watchmebuildit
@watchmebuildit Год назад
Hi Michael. Thanks for the question. No - you wont damage a movement by using a date movement on a no-date dial. So you’re safe! Thanks for the tip with a diamond file - I will look out for one
@michaelj8793
@michaelj8793 Год назад
@@watchmebuildit I think you'll be extremely happy once you obtain a diamond file it gives you a very fine end result almost polished look Thanks for the reply and Greetings from Florida Happy Holidays and New Year's as well Thanks again 👍
@rillyfish
@rillyfish Год назад
You can damage the date setting if you change the date while the date switch is already engaged by the movement. You can control this with a dial that show this but not on this dial. The real question is why use a movement with date with a dial without date, it increase the risk of damaging the movement and brings a "ghost" position on the stem. Using an NH38 would have been more appropriate.
@michaelj8793
@michaelj8793 Год назад
@@rillyfish Thanks for the reply I agree completely It seems like nobody addressed the whole ghost date issue that's in so many watches in the future I'll just be using or purchasing the proper movement Thanks again my friend
@watchmebuildit
@watchmebuildit Год назад
@@rillyfish you are right on both counts. The simple reason I used an NH35 - it’s all I had in my drawer. But you are correct that an NH38 would be far more appropriate

Would it be possible to make a GMT version of this watch? So basically all this with the nh34 GMT movement
@watchmebuildit
@watchmebuildit Год назад
Hi There Marc. Namoki have confirmed that this case can accommodate the stack height of the NH34. Be certain to buy a GMT dial with a hole wide enough to take the GMT hand wheel
@ProperCh
@ProperCh Год назад
How do you know the WR of the watch? Or do you just need to trust that it is waterproof if youve built it correctly.
@watchmebuildit
@watchmebuildit Год назад
Hi Chris. Resellers like Namoki are fastidious about testing their batches to ensure that the water resistance matches their claims. AliExpress sellers are not always that diligent. You can purchase a home pressure tested which can test up to 6 atmospheres (a true 60m)

Great video indeed! Question though, the thickness compared to the bb58 is more substantial. Is it acceptable, how does it compare? I am not able to built watches myself but would be interested in this built.. Who could built it for me? Namoki is not assembling these watches I suppose ..
@watchmebuildit
@watchmebuildit Год назад
Hello Brecht. This watch is just over 1mm thicker than a BB58. Something to keep in mind is that more that 1mm is the top hat sapphire Crystal which sticks up above the case. It really is a very wearable watch. I would be happy to build one for you. Email me on watchmbi@gmail.com and we can get the process going. Sincerely, Shaun Frost
@brechtvanhoenacker4970
@brechtvanhoenacker4970 Год назад
@@watchmebuildit Thank you Shaun, I am seriously considering your offer! So if I understand correctly the case and caseback are almost identical in thickness and it is mostly the crystal that is higher? I understand the bezel action is not perfect. Is it possible to fix it and make it as smooth as the Tudor? I will mail you asap. tx
@watchmebuildit
@watchmebuildit Год назад
Hello Brecht. I don’t have a Tudor in hand to compare it with, but from a careful inspection of photos, I would say the added thickness of 1.5mm is made up of: a more pronounced sapphire crystal, a slightly deeper dish on the bezel insert and a slightly deeper dish on the caseback. The Namoki watch certainly doesn’t wear thick though. Regarding the bezel - I am not confident that it can be brought to a Tudor standard. Namoki sent me a replacement case and it’s bezel, while better, leaves something to be desired. They are looking to an engineered solution. But I don’t know how long it will be in coming. If you’d like to move forward drop me a mail.

Hi Jose. WMBI15 should be working - but it does not apply to the full DIY kits sadly. If you take the NMK-939 set though it does work. The discount also doesn’t apply to movements, Bergeron tools and Namoki range of fully built watches
