it's nice to know that the art of stonemason is not falling by the wayside..one of my brothers is a stonemason and at the time he was learning there WERE no apprenticeships happening..he had to do a bricklayers apprenticeship instead..since learning his art and becoming professional things picked up again and he became a teacher for it..with so many old buildings needing work done on them it has meant that the art has been brought back to the fore again..

My grandfather had a gravel truck business, so I grew up riding along, that's the first time I saw a a bed dump sideways! On the metal mesh ie building fabric, when you unroll it, flip it over and step on it, helps flatten and it won't roll back up.

@arturjcrebelo3275
@arturjcrebelo3275 4 года назад
I do think they dont using cement. They using in Portuguese (Cal Hidráulica), Secil is a very know brand of cement but they produce everything, Cal hidráulica is a "dust/powder" that come from limestone or magmatic rocks and they burn that dust at 900ºC (a lot lower temperature than cement). At 200 years ago when they build this kind of houses they use only clay/argil/loam(?) and nothing more, but this "Cal" can be a lot better. That's why they prepare the "Cal Hidráulica" different from normal cement. The blue/gray paper bag is the normal cement, that white/orange is "Cal Hidráulica" at 21:47

Hi guys, the barn is coming on great. Train your chickens with a rattle can. Put a few stone on an old tin/can. Every time you go to feed/ water them, rattle the can a few times. That way once they are out foraging all you have to do is rattle the can and they’ll come to you.

I have an even greater respect for the labor and calculations of building with ROCK!! May your girls live long and lay low for you... as eggs are found intact.🤗🍳✌️

Initially, when you said you were buying rocks, I thought that was like taking coals to Newcastle! However, I'm really pleased you are raising the roof. That makes the mezanine much more feasable. Going to be good!
