It's been a busy few days but things are finally starting to shape... Can't wait to get the bed all setup! Also, have you ever foraged for Wild Garlic? It's so tasty and one of our favourite things to gather. We have a guide up on our website with some tips for where to find it and what to use it for here: thistiny.life/wild-garlic-guide/ Thanks for watching!! Jack + Gabby xx
As your build moves along, consider design elements from RV's They are after all essentially the same device adapted for a different surface of travel as far as the interiors go. Things like built in USB chargers and led lighting are simple things to do. More complex items like kitchen cabinets, and shower pans can be bought as kits. Things like flat pack sofas can fit through the doors. The biggest thing to get is a 12 v freezer. We fill our freezer with high quality foods before a big trip. Nothing like being able to get a few steaks from the freezer to grill or ice cream on the hottest day of summer in a beautiful spot. keep being awesome ;)
Fantastic video guys, it's so nice to be able to feel like we're going on your journey with you, i could never forage for wild garlic or other natural fruits and herbs like you do as i live in London
Enjoyed watching you build your bed frame and then suddenly thought the channel had been switched to Planet Earth 😊. Just lovely! Cannot wait for the next vlog.
Let me recommend a device know as a “speed square”. It is a triangle that will let you create right angles so as to be square to your level, which is your floor.
Nothing like building your own bed to make sure it's perfect for you. Have subscribed to your newsletter & really hungry now I've read the shepherd's pie recipe! Have to do this soon, maybe tomorrow even, sounds more interesting than my usual vegan recipe. Loved the video of Jack & Tilly in the woods, nature is wonderful. 🌱
The bed build went well, you two are pro’s now 👍 hope you all had a lovely Easter. I’ve got a boat hire on the 19th May, will the wild garlic still be around ?
I knew those interior dividing walls were going to be a problem…I am surprised about this bed build, will have to see how this turns out? I think a large air mattress would be more suitable for a narrow boat for portability and cleaning, or a futon, or a suspended bed would be nice…
Thanks for watching Michael! We're pretty chuffed with the walls...they're doing the job! As to the mattress... an air bed isn't comfy for even one night so that's not really a long term option! Boats do have normal beds, just like houses 😊
Once you’ve finished building your bed it’s going to be hindering your work on the water piping from your tank. You need all the electrics, gas piping, and water system in and tested first.
It's not going to get in the way too much. The electrics are all in, we're gas free and I'm quite confident the single pipe from the water tank to the pump will be accessible... Thank you for your concern 🙂
um check measurements above gunwales as currently looks like you will have an issue when mattress on, is is not as wide above gunwales as it is on the floor where base is
