I wanted to build a bigger better briquette press after a friend gave me a 4ft piece of 3in PVC. The idea was to build this and use my car scissor jack for compression. It works well as you will see in the next video; however, I need to weld a small rod to a 3/4 in socket so that i can speed up the jack operation. This was a fun project which I tried to do without purchasing any supplies, but I did not have long enough toggle bolts.
For anyone wanting to make their own paper logs, I recommend you purchase a press from an online source, unless you are frugal like me and you can build it out of scraps.
