Building Paul, from Fab Rats, Rat Rod Tow Truck Motor 

I was watching the tow truck games and I realized I never watched Paul go through this motor. When I searched You had built it before I had subscribed to this channel. This motor ripps man well done.

At present in Brisbane Queensland Australia E10 petrol is AU$1.95 per litre. Your petrol is the equivalent of AU$ 2.20 per litre. Pretty close to the same price here and there. Love the pull-apart and reassembly and delivery. How is the Yellow Sub. going?

What cam are you running Sir? Still a 454? I have an 89 BB 454 honed out 5 thou over stock so I can still run my stock pistons but guessing your running flat tops or pop-up's for what compression? Any trouble running thin 15 thou shim head gaskets with a vortec head to gain back some compression & better squish vs zero decking the block?

To be honest this video threw me off. Everyone knows fram are junk. But Wix/Napa has always been my go to for a low cost easy to find filter. What do you like then? Baldwins? I know they are good but hard to find… I should disclose I always have used Mann in my German cars… Thanks.

It seems like a tow truck should have a torquey low rpm motor, but that dominator intake is for high rpm. Wouldn't a dual plane manifold been a better choice?

I enjoyed this video a lot, the little tips & tricks and the dissection and explanation on the oil filter are exactly the kind of thing I love watching. I’ve been working on cars my whole life and knew not to use Fram stuff but it’s awesome to see exactly why. I love an old school Chevy build but I’m also a Cummins/diesel guy so I can’t wait to see you share some knowledge on those as I’m sure you know some stuff I don’t. Keep it up and keep filming what you do, it’s more interesting to others than you realize.

Bro I like watching you videos but you're going to have to figure out a way turn the volume up for your speaking because I can't understand a word you're saying I got everything turned wide opening can't hear nothing

Only thing I like about FRAM is the grip. The rough coating on the end gives your palm a slip-free surface when dry & almost slip-free if it gets oily so it can be wrenched on//off by hand (if you have a strong grip).

FRAM SUCKS!!! What do you recommend?????

You said you have junk sitting around your place. I don't believe it. I see nothing but dream machines. I have a question for you. I am selling my house and moving into a toy hauler then travel either until I find an area I like, or I kick that bucket we all avoid. Anyway, I have a 2015 K2500 with the 6.0 liter and it doesn't feel like it will drag a trailer without shoving my foot through the floor. It has 115,xxx miles on it and I was wondering if you would be interested in putting some power in it? I also have a 98 K2500 with the 7.4/ 454 and I almost like that one better, but it's got 290,xxx miles on it. Still looks good and runs strong but age and wear gets to the point of breakdowns on the road. I am not worried about it now but I'm not beating it either. I will probably sell the 98. Will you have time and be interested in doing that? I am hoping to be on the road by maybe October.

0:30 Hey Merlin, I'm quite certain that the offending camshaft that Paul originally put in that big block was an eBay special. He replaced it with a proper one, but by then the damage was done.

Yup stay away from fram filters. Wix/carquest brand are good. K&N seem good. Prolly more but thats what i stick with

1st timer to your channel. Enjoyed watching but wanted to advise you that you need to talk louder or get a better or closer mic. I had my volume at 100% and still had trouble hearing you at times. If I couldn’t get a new good filter, I’d run my existing filter another oil change interval before I’d install a Fram.

We like to cut a section of filter media out and then squeeze in the vice with blue wiper to absorb the oil. Then the metal becomes much easier to see. Not much point of that in this motor, but good tip for regular oil changes.
