LOL, love the apologies in your videos; I'm pretty sure your fans will watch no matter what you put up. I'm jealous of the relationship with your talented father, he reminds me of my grandfather who was a carpenter and mechanic. I would follow him around like a hungry puppy trying to learn everything as he built houses or rebuilt motors. I learned enough just following him around to be able to pick stuff up later in my life which has served me well. After his passing in 2010 I was gifted a work shop of his tools in through using brought him back to life to work through projects with me again only this time I was the one making the cuts. Your house looks like it’s being built to last for many generations to come!! I can imagine it being handed down to future children and grandchildren.. there’s just something you can’t take away from the feeling of building something like this with your own hands!
I live in PA, …I grew up in Amish country…..watching Jeff and his small crew build Hannah’s house is like watching a barn raising , with a fraction of the people…..😳
As someone that has built two houses for myself on my own, I am envious as all get out. Framing is by far the most exciting part of building a house. It's looking sweet!!
Hanna, I'm sure you know how blessed you are to have your Dad be such a big part of your life. I'm around your Dad's age and I lost my Dad 22 years ago. Treasure each day, with your momma too. Old fashioned way ? They didn't have nail guns and heavy equipment to do the lifting years ago . Nice job on the house but nothing about it is " old fashioned "
@Greg Martin the framing and wood is old fashioned. The lack of particle board i beam floor joists. No the forklift isn't. But try to find that quality lumber in almost any new house you see being built.

I'm incredibly jealous - there's nothing I'd love more than a house where you have to drive down a road that's a couple of ruts in the grass - for quite a ways - to get to it. Just the sound of the birds chirping and the breeze rustling the leaves in the trees. Heaven on earth 🙂

this is a well framed home. the foundation is spot on. no problems out of this house later on. Jeff is a very smart conscientious man. one thing is absolutely for sure...there is a lot of love in this house. God bless the Barrons. True americans.

I've seen so many videos of people putting together their roof with stick sized timber. Great to see proper sized being used. Your palace is coming along and Jeff is just like this is what we are doing, this is happening. No room for a doubt in that man's mind
It's magnificent to see this come together. I've never been apart of building anything much less a house from scratch. Would love to do it someday. Pretty cool stuff. House is looking good already.
I tell you what. I'm from the south also (one state to your west), and we down here know hard work. But your dad is a whole other animal. I own some construction companies, use hundreds of contractors and can tell you, men like your dad are few and far between. You find out real quick how to separate the nail drivers from the true builders, carpenters, and craftsmen. Shout out to your dad. House is looking great.
Really happy to see some temporary cross bracing on those trusses at 6:34 for a bit of stability. I've seen too many truss installations come down due to inadequate (temporary) bracing before the roof deck gets added. I'm enjoying watching this build and am happy for you!
As mentioned by the commenter below I also have built my own home and with the help of family three others. I got to say those timber trusses are a work of art on your daddies part. Hannah you probably already know it but you will never ever forget the memories you and your father are making. Your daddies role in your life is so similar to my own I have with my own four adult children. Two boys and two girls, who I got to say are just as pretty as you. Yessiree. As of recently they all have purchased their own homes and I’m their number one unofficial contractor/remodeler builder daddy, and I love it !!! Slowly but surely they all are developing a set of skills that most people today just do not possess. I truly preciat y’all more than you know. From Wichita Kansas.

Very cool to see father and daughter doing a house. Interesting to see how different things are down there compared to here in Maine. Been a contractor for 30 years and can’t believe the framing. No room for insulation and a good stiff wind here would blow that place down with what are essentially 2 by 2 walls now that they are notched out. She’s a bit top heavy!
