I'm stone cold, I don't cry ever, not even at family members funerals... but this made me well up! This is the pure beauty of skateboarding in its truest form. The epitome of overcoming any obstacle with love, fellowship and perseverance through self-expression! This is what skateboarding has always and will always be about. I FKNG LOVE SKATEBOARDING!
I’m an old guy now and I’m watching this on a construction site as I’m getting ready to leave and I guarantee my eyes look red right now because I’m tearing up. This is so pure. I love it.
I am an old guy now well past my prime, but I’m watching this just before leaving a construction site and I bet my eyes look red because they’ve been tearing up. I miss the days of pure innocent joy out with my friends, trying to figure out what skateboard can do. Not a care in the world. What I mean is I certainly had things to worry about off the board, but when I was with my friends skating, none of it mattered. This video is so pure.
Dope. Loved it when the guy did the 360 boneless and didn't even know what it was called. It's like they're inventing the sport again. Can't imagine what these homies would be capable of if they had proper shoes, bearings, etc.
they'll be pro , Nike would love them and would like that he's from a different background , he or she will be a model for their communities back home.
Isn't it funny how Red Bull shows up to virtue signal & make themselves look good while leaving behind absolutely nothing to make skateboarding sustainable for these people? It's kinda like "here's a couple of setups to roll on for a few months until they're completely trashed and you have to go back to your life of poverty...enjoy!"
@@i-never-look-at-replies-lol they gave them more than a couples setups , shoes clothes, and build them a pole jam , rail and fun box. They inspired them spread love and I'm pretty sure redbull paid for everything.
@TheHevquip you clearly have never been to a third world country. Shit that lasts us a few months lasts people there years - if not decades - because they continue to repair it. Granted, it's not as good as it is new but they also don't have as much garbage/waste. Like Madars said, "the priorities are different".
I grew up watching skateboarding. Never did it myself but all of these guys are just living their dream and it’s really cool to see the passion and commitment is just unreal.
I've been to South Africa, Mozambique and Malawi... I know how much initiatives like this are really necessary to avoid greater problems among people so in need... sometimes, what seems like simple propaganda, helps to save lives. Congratulations to everyone involved in this project.
This is what it's all about, loved it. Big respect to all of the society. Loved that it had to be a Canadian who left his setup. Uganda strong, one love
Second watch and I started crying. I broke my leg skating about a year (or two?) ago, broke both my leg bones attached to my ankle skating mini ramp. First thought was “am I gonna want to keep skating?” Once I recovered all I wanted to do was skate again. Seeing these guys go through life the way they do is such a beautiful, wonderful thing. These guys are some of the best skaters in the world, hands down!!!!
Absolutely love this. Made me shed a tear or two at the end party. I wanna skate there someday, hopefully bring some boards. Madars is such a great dude in skate scene, sending love to him, hope this show has 10 seasons.
This is pure radness! Somebody needs to send them a VCR and old school vhs tapes of all the old videos. I have a ton of em and would love to donate to such a good cause.
Much love...greetings from Iceland. Hey yo Rashid that 180 shuvit grab transfer you did was hella sick man. I always love seeing when people watch a skater do cool tricks for the first time in their lifes and see just how amazed they are and how hype they get when crazy tricks are being done right in front of them. It reminds me of when i saw it for the first time. Like when i watched hokus pokus (80s H-street skatevideo) for the first time and i was like wow! I want to do that! It really is magical. It was the same for me when i saw He-Man or something simular but it was within my grasp and actually possible to do so i got so excited that one day i was going to be doing that... and i did except for turning pro and being at the same top level but you know what i mean. Every skater knows this feeling and remembers watching skatevideos before going outside all hyped out to the max and driving some neighbours crazy by visiting every single corner of the neighbourhood scouting for new spots. If it was skateable we tried to skate it..even if it was only 3 broken stairs right by their frontdoor..or backdoor...or behind closed gates 🤠🥳😎 good times...that started like 30 years ago and i still get hyped when just seeing something simple butnreally steezy..the sounds of the wheels , then the pop and perfect landing. Thats aahhhhh
I follow these guys on twitter and seeing the daily dedication and the community come together to help grow skating in uganda has been such a treat. Much love to everyone out there making it happen
This is fukin' amazing ! What they have created and the level of skill they have attained despite their isolation and lack of resources is monumental. This is what skateboarding is all about.
What a great story! I had to donate and get a hoodie. I think activities like skateboarding and its inclusive culture can truly bring the world together. It's like music and art. It transcends color and becomes a universal language. It has a style and culture that just brings people in and gives them a place and a group to be a part of. Plus it's exercise and it's fun. And wouldn't it be rad to see Ugandan male and female skateboarders in the Olympics someday?
Come to Pakistan as well! We have started our community very recently and we're growing greatly in number. Till last year there was no skateboarding but now there is.
Is there anywhere people can sign up or get involved volunteering with things like this?? I think a lot of people would, and it would mean alot to the skate community (and anyone involved) to be able to get involved and help give back to people, as opposed to only watching it happen on the internet.
Deam ❤️ i feel you guys what you done Ford Uganda skatepark and like that im from Uganda but i have live in europe about past20 years on Finland so i know what they Are goin Up whit The skateboarding becoase i have Been where on europe so long so i know what this meant to them and The Works that they have done its not easy
You ask a skater in the U.S. or Europe what skateboarding is and the answer is quite individual- creativity, freedom, self expression, which is fine, but when Gerald was asked that question he said it's a "coming together" a community. We could all use a bit more of that perspective and be a bit less into ourselves.
It would be Great If you look once at Nepal Skateboarding Scene.due to poor economy family background Me as well as Many Other Good Skaters have to Leave Skateboarding. Hope we'll Get up back One day. #peace lots of love from #nepal 🇳🇵.
