@@brianraulerson5037 Cool! I hope you have good success with it. Here is the official thread on it at Parts Express Tech Talk forum if you'd care to post any pics there since I don't have my own website.
I have some 3d printed trim rings that snap on to the speaker flange that would make this look more like the scanspeak version of this speaker. The way they are designed though they would have to be flush mounted, but they could be redesigned without the roundover.
That sounds like a good idea. There is another version of this same driver with that foam gasket material on the rear, as opposed to the front of the driver... apparently this particular driver is meant to be rear-mounted which is why the foam is on the front. PE only sells this version I believe. I really don't like these weird-framed drivers as they are a pain to recess, but my lazy-man's technique worked okay in the end. You guys with the 3-D printers have all the fun! Oh, and regarding your other comment on the form factor of this amp (I can see it but not respond to it for some reason) I like it too, SO easy to mount, and nothing to do but hook it up. It's kind of LOUD too! The preamp I used was on the quiet side, but with a real CD player or laptop output going into this amp, it really puts out the power! Thank you sir, for watching and commenting.
Wes, it's actually a gift for a former co-worker. I often make two of whatever I happen to be working on, but this time, I only made one radio. Thanks a lot for watching and commenting.
Nice video nice build. What if you make a Epique sub 5.25” driver in the same box fully integrated that is what excites me proper 2.1 No seperste sub box easy to move around for ladies and kids even if there is no battery no problem
That would make a loud and low small suitcase sound system for sure. The smallish sub box in this system allows for placing it where it will do the most good in a room, as well as making it easier to hide (lots of ladies may not want to see a "Sub-Thingy" out in the open) I'm all for your idea though, sounds like fun!
