Totally captivating and very interesting. The idea of building a CNC with limited machine tools and what's looking to be a very well thought out and sturdy little machine. Just some thoughts though while watching along always best to use a vice when using a pillar drill much safer. Also cutting aluminium is possible with a circular saw with the correct metal blade. Very much looking forward to your next video..👍👍👍👍

As always, incredible content ! Be careful of the EMP generated by this spindle ! It could mess up your stepper motor controllers.

Thanks for the advice. I have had an experience before where the stepper motor started moving on its own due to noise from the spindle motor. At that time, I had a very hard time finding the cause. Now that I have that experience, I think I can handle it.

@@amirulsyamil6672 Physically separate the two categories of drive circuits (including controller mounting and cabling). Use appropriate shielded cables and LEARN how to correctly terminate them (ask an expert). Use filters for inductive loads that run on high and changing current. Oh and another three ... or two-hundred points:) Good luck!

Awesome build! Can’t wait to see the finished product. However, I have a piece of advice. When you’re trying to dial in the linear rails, don’t set the dial gauge against the actual rail. Instead, there is a ground bit on the side of the rail block that should be used as a reference. Hope that helps

I think you are right. I should have originally measured the linear block. I thought at the time that I couldn't measure the block because the linear block had to be fixed first, but I guess I could do it with the block against the rail.

peristaltik pumps have the disadvantage of intermittend flow and that the hose will fail fairly quickly

But for quick toolpaths And easy to use then Mastercam and many other midrange software is the way to go. That's why Mastercam is popular In small shops here in the U.s.a Easy to use Fast startup. But as shops move on they upgrade to High end systems. But then the pay is more on wage. But that is the price one pays When moving up. (Like a s2000 moving up to a Ferrari)

Hello I like your site, and checked out your website. And just wanted to Share my thoughts on software. You state "Mastercam" is the best CAM. We'll the BEST software is the one that allows the user to Have TOOL CONTROL and Mastercam does NOT. ONLY NCCS (NCL gives you Full CONTROL) so for tool control NCL IS 1ST CATIA, NX, would be next. And only these are High End systems. Mastercam. Gibbscam. And many Others are mid range cam systems. Also if the system is easy to use then the nc programmer is payed a LOW WAGE. That's why high end systems pay more as the learning curve is longer. Just my thoughts after useing MANY softwares in the last 44 years of programming.

Thank you for your comment. I think you are right. I think website management is still inexperienced and needs more modification. To be honest, I don't know much about CAM. I'll have to double check the information on the website.

Why not go with a 2.2kw spindle instead of the 1.5kw? Outer diameters are the same.

The 2.2kw spindle is longer than that. The collet size is also ER20. Collets that are too large are prone to interference. So I decided to use a small collet. If I need a 2.2kw spindle, I can buy 2.2kw spindle and use it right away because the VFD is 2.2kw. It would be interesting to replace the spindle as needed.

The machine is running but I am not satisfied due to running a masso controller. I would like to switch to Linux Cnc but I have no idea where to start. I also saw the comments on my blog. I do not know about the MASSO controller. Does MASSO controller support TCP? It says PC-less controller. I think this means that you are not using LinuxCNC, right? If so, I have no idea. I use Linuxcnc and Mesa7c81. The basics of these setups are shown in other videos. Sorry I can't be of help. I have a lot of experiences like yours. Good luck.
