At E3, the giant rotunda experience actually showed some of the planets and Venus was one of them, so we did know that Venus was a planet, but perhaps not everyone. I thought Bungie released the Rotunda video from E3 on youtube, but I can't find it. I have it crudely filmed on my channel if you want to take a look.
Your pretty much right I totally agree but there are some moon missions that have ships fly in and drop enemy's off that isn't s cutscene, also an earth mission and all the public events
For anyone wondering if there's new information within this video, let me sum it up: 2:30 mentions the gambling of gear, 7:40 mentions the colony ship, aka the giant ship in the background and 8:53 mentions the Fist of Havok, which seems to be the Titan's lightning "space magic" skill.
"And we're done this is the gameplay. Bird Simulator is what we're actually shipping/" (referring to the character walking and birds flying off in reaction) That is literally 50% of the game play. You walk and then you shoot. And as I type this "[Her Armor] is either purchased or traded or gambled for." What in the fuck?! Why is this better than the actual game?
Theyungcity23 you know some people see this and ask why is this better. I say because what we have here is only the beginning of destiny's greatness. But I was turned into a great mess.
better plot approach--> you are a seasoned veteran guardian who has fought the fallen, cabal, and hive for years, you've lost friends and loved ones along your tireless journey but your loyalty to humanity has kept you going, during a normal routine raid, you and your fire-team of six learn about a new plan the fallen are devising which involves a planetary AI called 'Rasputin' and set out to stop it, once the fallen's plan is neutralized and all victory is assured but startlingly the hive start to behave differently diverting you to a new planet.... the moon, on your quest to learning of the hives intentions you run into 'Eris mourn' the soul survivor of a lost fire-team, rumors had gone around depicting her KIA but it appears she is rather well... minus the new eye, she rambles on about a hive god named Crota who massacred her team she later explains that Crota is the son of Oryx 'the most powerful hive in existence' this is when your legend begin the task to killing Crota is tedious but other wise completed... with crippling loses your emotions have been harden from past experience and you keep moving, 'mourn the fallen when you yourself have fallen' you quote, the quote had been the only memory of your family since the golden ages and the collapse and you have used it ever since the only other thing keeping you going is a stranger who seems to have taken an interest in your skills and wishes for your help on another planet.. Jupiter a new enemy has risen to take the title of 'the biggest threat to mankind' and that is 'the vex' a bio-mechanical race hell bent on total planetary domination, the stranger you came across wishes you to help her annihilate the hive mind of the vex 'the black garden', the rumors about it were splotchy at best and the fact it was involved with the vex was surprising how long had the vex been around? that answer was forever lost in the edges of time the battle against the vex rages on as it becomes more and more enduring, in need of allies to assist you, you go to the far reaches of the rim called 'the reef' in order to recruit the queens assistance, with her help and military power the push to the black garden is consider the easiest part of the day, the end battle with the hive mind is taxing and every hope to destroying it is becoming distant, but with sheer determination and will you and the stranger defeat the vex hive mind giving the vex one hell of a blue screen with all of the enemies defeated and retreating, you stand among a crowd of mourning civilians, battles have been won, but people had been lost, the only one still standing strong... is you 'mourn the fallen until you yourself have fallen' from across the towers court yard, the stranger stands watching you, until a small smirk plays upon her lips "it doesn't matter who you are, but Only what you will become"
Activision wanted money faster so they had them speed up the production which caused them to have to redo this part to make it look like the rest of the game they had to do fast.
the game had a pattern building system where you could use parts of (the current subclasses which wernt a thing back then)to build your own sort of subclass
why does this e3 sample look better and funner to play than the alpha and beta? it seems like you have taken a lot of little features out for most people. maybe you get these much later in the game?
That's not the case. It's because this build was created with next gen consoles in mind. Now, imagine having to make this game for 2 other consoles that have drastically different framerates and performances so that they all perform the same. Basically, they look different because the Xbox 360 and maybe the PS3 couldn't handle it. Hopefully the next Destiny installment will be a next gen console exclusive, and leave the burden that is the X360 and PS3, so we can get the things shown above.

The thunderlord was pre-named which indicates there are weapons you can name and customise personally. 3: The public events are put together with the use of instant matchmaking There were some more things but I can't seem to put all of it together at the moment. (I'm pretty tired).
I am disappointed Bungie. You sold us a lie of a game, I mean, just look at all of the cut features from this trailer ALONE! Not to mention _ALL_ of the other 2013 trailers! It really sucks that you guys had to cut so much just to meet a deadline. It makes me sad just thinking how boring the game is compared to what it looks like here. :,(
I don't think it's bungie a fault... I think it was activision. They were finding the game and when bungie needed some more time they said no. When they wanted to include the whole thing they had worked on activison said nope, you'll ship it as a DLC so we can get more money. I don't think it's bungie you should be mad at. I do agree with you though there was a lot of shit from the trailers that should have been in the game.
Graeme MacInnis I'd say they are both equally at blame. Bungie clearly put in things that the old generation of consoles just aren't capable of running. To me, after playing the game and rewatching trailers and interviews and whatnot, it just feels like they made a copy of the game for the new generation of consoles, and either somebody at Bungie or Activision decided it was to be on both generations of consoles. So, they had to take out everything that the old gens couldn't run. Also if you notice many of the older trailers say the game was expected to get an M rating, but released with a T rating. So, it also seems that someone decided they wanted a more "child friendly" game. To achieve that they would've had to remove a lot of "explicit" content and make a decent bit of the content that is there more simple so children would be able to understand them easier (there are certain aspects in games that are just too complicated for children to easily comprehend and do, such as perhaps why certain skills in Fallout are useful even though they may not do "cool" stuff, or having more complicated missions such as in Dark Souls). I'm sure them wanting to sell DLC had a hand in why the main game wasn't all that great, but there's no reason to point all the blame at it or at either company.
It's pretty much a Co-op MMOFPS experience. Everything we've seen points to that. 3 man Fireteams, you and your friends until you run into other people. The reason why I call it a "Co-Op" MMOFPS is because we don't tear at each others throats, it's more focused on a progression system with a story behind it but it has a massive world as well. They've told us they have a 10 year plan for this game, so I'd imagine it's just going to keep growing.
Its a shame they fucked this game up so bad. The story had so much potential but now I fear people won't buy any dlc and we won't see any new games. I have a feeling Bungie is going to look really bad with all the info coming out about how much they cut from the story.... Its really a shame and a slap in the face to Bungie fans.
its a starting area for lvl 1 ~ 10 pay attention to the people's levels also from what i can tell, fireteams will be synchronized on the same storyline (im talking about the 3 players in one team) so far, the mechanism is as impressive as the graphics :)
Because bungie has already said that it's not a MMOFPS. It's kind of like a shared world shooter. When you aren't in a private space, people drop in and drop out from your game seamlessly. When you aren't in a private space the game matches you with other players who are in the same area. You don't even notice them joining your game, it just happens. It's not all on 1 big server.

Bungie, you outdid yourselves on this one, a must-get. Wish you the best of luck on finishing this beautiful product, because one thing's for sure, I'll be pre-ordering it.
Fair enough! Those are some good point you present.However, if I may, I think I'll take the opportunity to bring up Skyrim. "Skyrim, why," you ask. The answer is that Skyrim is a heavily modded game. There are over 30,000 Mods on the website that I use, and the mods have probably quintupled the amount of time that I've enjoyed putting into the game. I also bring up the point that the PC version is heavily modded, but the console version is closed down. Modding increases the longevity of a game.
In your opinion. Higher level gun? I do very well with the very first weapon I get in all CoD games. And how well I do generally stays very consistent. What you just described happens all the time in Halo to me. Someone sees me, spams the grenade button, I go flying into the air. Every close up situation, that happens. What is your point? Same happens in BF3, you see and shoot someone first, you win.
All that we've seen thus far would indicate that it has the same basics as the latter two Halo games (yes even H4). There is a co-op campaign (which seems to be huge and span most of the demo) and certain areas (public events) where you may be joined by other players. Halo has been doing this for a while with the exception that the campaign has been nowhere near as large and the mulitplayer such as public events (think Firefight, Spartan Ops) were not interwoven into the fabric of the co-op.
You do go into "matchmaking" in certain areas, that's what was shown in this reveal. That is, you are matched with other players in who enter the area to work cooperatively together. But it appears that you are right about the hopper in the menu; I believe Destiny will have both systems of mulitplayer.
Everything we've seen points to 3 man fireteams running into other people, but that's only in certain areas; you can't just find other teams everywhere you go. That's why I would not say it's an MMO, even if it has some aspects, albeit on a smaller scale.
so when that ship warped in and tipped over the colony ship, from what I have heard that ship is part of the map and is accessible so what if you were on it when the public event happened?
They said something about colony ships and it was accidental. The point is they have to keep quiet and they already have a video telling you about a bunch of the demo stuff.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to that game as well. Assassin's Creed Black Flag, Destiny, Battlefield 4, Halo 5, and The Elder Scrolls Online are my top 5 games for the 2013-2014 years. The division looks great though.
Wow this is looking really great. Seems to be a little like a cross between the basic Halo engine and Borderlands with the gun usage elements. Both of which I love a lot. Nicely done guys. I can't wait to play this!
i think he's trying to guess how the revives work. So the characters connect to the traveler who stores their ally's life essence in order to revive them. That's how I interpreted it at least.
Wow why did they have to change the game so drastically? This is sad. This Rixis mission actually looks a lot better than what they ended up giving us in the game.
It's a year away from release. What do you expect? It's probably still in internal alpha with this being possibly the only bit that's polished enough to show.
You share the world with every other player online, but it's your choice whether you have a fire team and participate in public events or not. You can perform the campaign by yourself, should you choose to do so, but your world will not be cut off entirely from others in some ways. It will have a living economy and plentiful opportunities to meet people. And don't worry; there will be competitive multiplayer, as well. Bungie has done that in its FPS games since Marathon.
Matchmaking when you enter the zone? So the players have a world all to themselves (or their fireteams [probably not]) and when you enter a certain area it "matchmakes" you and your fireteam with other fireteams who are also in the zone.Real time matchmaking sounds cool, but a problem is that if your universe is large enough, and your player base too small, you may not be able to accommodate the mechanic properly, or at least, as intended.
The traveler must have some sort of connection to the guardians through some ethereal tether that allows other guardians to resurrect them, storing part of their their life essence or something.
I'm a little worried about the texture resolutions... Kinda defeats the purpose of real-time lighting and dynamic water effects when your gun looks muddled and low res. I'm sure this will all be taken care of by launch, right Bungie? ;)
I know what revolver you might like in Destiny (when it comes out). It's called "The Thorn". It's a revolver looking pistol that is black and has some weird spikey parts on it. If you look up images for it it looks pretty cool. When Destiny comes out, i'm gonna get that pistol.
The video is titled "Bungie Commentary" and they even said they were going to talk about the ending sequence in the beginning, what did you think was going to happen?
I think that is more of a balance thing, like only being able to carry 35 pounds of equipment at a time, respawn timers, infinite lives, jogging for 5 seconds before tiring, throwing objects that kill on contact of foot, wasting billions of dollars of equipment to kill 3 people and headshot sniping from the hip
I love when a really good game doesn't come out for the PC or comes out on consoles too and the PC players get hella pissed. Brings a smile to my face.
Of course, as a continuation of the Legendary ending, it was well executed; I'm not trying to deny that. I'd just have much preferred something other than Chief. His story should've been left to cool. Have a few games about Kilo-5 or the Infinity. Showcase Jul 'Mdama's rebellion against the Arbiter. Then come back to Master Chief. I think that might have been a better move to build hype.
The match made public events. It's too early to tell exactly how they work but if they pull that off and it is streamlined than chalk up another leap in the industry's technology for Bungie.

So because it's a gun, it could be in CoD. Also the sight, it's a holographic sight, that's how a holographic sight looks like.... The gun is orange and black, and the sight is blue with a laser sight. That's pretty colorful for a gun with no skin.
