Building the EMHW 2.43m 47% Pitts Special pt.2 Lower Wing 

Thanks Brendan for all the effort you put in sharing your build on RU-vid. It’s great to see your skill and patience and seeing it all taking shape. It brings back memories of building my first glider from balsa wood en paper when I was a teenager. Now more than fourty years later I’m back in the hobby. Bought my first RTF foamy and started flying again to get my flying skills back up again. But watching you at work, the ultimate dream is building a kit again 🙂 Not as big and exciting as yours, but something like a sport cub with a wingspan of a modest 1,5m. Looking forward to the next parts of your build.

Your doing a great job with the build and with the video which is showing people who have never built a plane just how much work it really is. I do know from over 45 years of being in this hobby that you will enjoy and admire your plane when its done and the maiden is finished. Way too many people in our hobby now have no idea what it means to build and fly a creation you personally framed up. All most know is ARF's and thats ok but until they build a model plane from a box of wood they will never experience the satisfaction of doing a build from a bundle of wood/sticks. Last year I finished a one year build of a 50% Pitts Challenger and it brought back thoughts of many years ago when all you had was building models, no ARF's just kits. Great job, look forward to seeing you continue and maiden the plane. Regards, Hank.

When are you going to finish this build and share it with us? You just left us hanging on this beast of a plane...LOL I'm sure its a lot of work and patience, also some swearing too!! But I cant wait to see you complete this plane, I love the PITTS Special.. I want to buy the Hanger 9 ARF PITTS!!

Hi buddy been following along. Where did you buy the kit from I'm looking at the 50% Pitts challenger.

I have a question. Can I run my electric start with my retractable gear in my Seagull zero and be ok ?

Probly shoulda used more clamps

is there a part 3 and 4 yet?
