I’m pretty sure that’s not up to them i seem to remember one of them saying the first year that insurance or the dome them selves require them to stay a certain distance from the stands

@@54raceman in which I'd tell the insurance that'll we'll just close off the bottom 10 rows or whatever gets them that distance. Don't see any difference in covering the entire floor with dirt when monster trucks do a show and just move the fans up a few rows

All dirt racing is for people with more money than sense, I don't see a problem with that.

That just tells me you've never seen him in a race outside of floracing. If you've ever watched him at tracks other than the dome, you'd know he's typically a clean racer. He usually gets into the outside wall, pushing the high line more than he gets into other drivers. He may not have the car and funding of your favorite big money drivers, but he's every bit as good, and he's racing with half the motor, half the budget, and half technical help. He doesn't have a highly recommended tech specialist, crew chief, and mechanic doing all of the hard work for him. He has some friends and family who help him out. He doesn't buy a brand new chassis and with the newest top of the line parts and motor every year or have 2 backup cars in case his gets totaled. If his car gets totaled, he goes to the shop and builds a chassis and takes all of the usable parts off of his wrecked one to put it together. There are times when he's running a borrowed car or motor while he's building or fixing his. That's the difference between your favorite dirt car drivers and real dirt track racers. They're a lot like their names, BUILT NOT BOUGHT.

Very limited time schedule to get in and get out. It's a major convention center that is booked solid 365. Many think it's an abandoned football stadium. That's not the case.The football field would be installed for Sunday and in many instances be flipped to something else on Monday. There is just not the time or money to pack it in like it could be. They pay for every day they occupy the place. That's a lot of horses and weight digging in the dirt. If it were midgets and micros it would hold together much better. Again there just isn't time to pack it down and let it settle. They work their asses off and do the best they can.

@@309mizzou I must say I was very impressed by the racing I saw last night. Completely different from last year. I hope they keep it in good condition like that because last year looked like a race straight out of Wreckfest.

I can see that. I wasn't a big fan of his when I first saw him on DirtyMo stuff. But then seeing how big of a fan he is, on the Lost Speedways series, I think won me over a bit. I can appreciate a fan going out and finding a paycheck while still being a fan.

Nobody loves racing more than Matthew. He is great guy who promotes grassroots racing. He has so much passion for racing. He's one of the good guys.
