Very cool,I built one of these as a kid in the 70's when me and my dad dug a pool by hand. Same fireplace but i stuck a pipe in it and covered the hole with boards and scrap stuff.Fun little winter temporary fort during slack digging on pool.

another fantastic construction, but I have some doubts: would not the carbon dioxide from the bonfire kill him intoxicated? His own "bed" would not stand a chance of getting burned? And the rain? would not it also be a problem?

It also doubles as a damn fine and virtually scavenger proof burial mound to safely protect your remains after the sticks that are holding up those small boulders eventually, and inevitably give way.

Not to insult anyone. But my dad said this is how alot of people hide in vietnam during the fighting and killing that was going on. So you know he knows what he is doing. My dad said a family can live there. I cant see how they can breathe or see. The smoke would kill first. And the people about wood when it gets wet breaks easy. No no. I lived in the country and you well.break your back tring to cut wet wood. Its when it dry its easy to break. I think that wood is bambo so it holds almost anything. Good job man.
