Fascinating prototype, I've never seen one before. The front looks like a hippo's head (I bet it does in the water😄😄👍). Thanks for sharing 👍😊✌️💜

Designed by Hans Trippel who also designed the VW166 Schwimmwagen, made by Bugatti in Molsheim. There's also a closed-cab version, and the later model has separate headlights (not sunken).

It looks like a shoe . But at the same time cool . I, agree with you Andy, love the strange looking vehicles.

Hi Sean. I agree, it does look like a shoe with wheels but I think it's oddly cool and was a fun build. Thanks for watching! Andy

How do you get your airbrush to spray such tight lines when doing your camo? Is it the paint consistency or airbrush setting

hi Andy and everyone. question. why does everyone swirl your airbrush around like that? is there a reason vs back n forth like you would a 1-1 car? just to let ya know, im getting back in to modeling after many many years.27 years to be honest and id used an airbrush just once, and that was on my last model. lol. didnt go well. painting was fine, car looks good still. but i ruined the airbrush while cleaning it... please dont ask..lol..thanks to anyone who may tell me why.

My bad. I finally tracked down in the attic my book : " Historic Military Vehicles Directory" by Bart Vanderveen. Bart is military vehicle guru. The book describes over 1400 vehicle models. So some interesting background.."Car, Medium, 4x4, Amphibious. Trippel SG6/41. 6 cyl. 55 bhp engine (Opel 2473-cc ohv) driving rear or all wheels via 5- speed gearbox and single speed transfer box. Hydraulic brakes. Independent suspension. Tyre size 6.00-18. Wheelbase 2500mm. Overall dimensions 4825x1800x1910 mm. Weight 1750 kg. Produced during 1941-44 in the Bugatti works in Molsheim, Alsace. The earlier SG6/38 had a different hull, with doors. Total SG6 production 1000 units. There were also various open and closed experimental models, before, during and after WWII". So it seems there was a pre-war model (Das Werk) and war model where the doors were removed and the hull was now one piece, perhaps to improve its amphibious operation.

Cool offer, a new vehicle to research. More 1/116th scale stuff, I'm on a crusade. 1/116 scale Shwimmwagan and WWII figures would be awesome. Thanks for finding time for these vids.

I was just thinking how this vehicle would look really amazing in 1/16.?.Think 1/16 scale would work perfectly for a vehicle like this.🤔

Dear Andy, thank you for your videos and your beautiful and inspiring work. Today I have a special question for you. Do you think the glue is harmful to health over a long period of time? Sometimes I think about it because I've built so many models. Thank you very much for your time and answer. Keep on going with your work and videos. Thank U.

Curious if its front or rear engined? Those intake/ exhaust vents in front of the doors could run either directon. Did anyone notice an exhaust pipe? Those vents must have had low point drains to the inside, thus the hand pump. High waves would have been a no no.
