Building the New Tamiya RC 1/35 Mk IV male Tank 

I'm a newbie to models. Love watching your channel. Today i finished my first in more than 20 years, a classic. The Tiger 1. There is so much to learn, so I made it 'factory fresh'. First time using an airbrush aswell. The weathering effects you do are amazing! I will learn, step by step.

I should probably get farther in the video before I comment but the clips on the motor assemblies are called C clips. Also known as Jesus clips 'cus that's what you say when you launch one of them across the room.

I bought the non RC motorized one a while back but was too intimidated to build it, but thanks to stumbling across this I've worked through it, and with the help of the vid it's done and ready for paint. So cheers for making this vid. :)

Dual motors with R/C, far out!!! So glad you demoed the R/C unit for us. That just might be my next kit......I really like it. You did a great job that is one of my favorites you built so far!!!

I wish someone would come out with a generic 1/35 RC conversion kit so we could mobilize all our models!

Great build video and... I LOVE THIS MODEL! I bought the single-motor (non-RC) kit and built it recently, it was all easy, except I had a LOT of hassle with the external gear cover plates as seen at 12:30. The screws seemed to be too big for the holes and the tiny screwdriver supplied with kid was unable to drive them in and I used small pliers with extreme care. The single motor kit includes a lot of hardware intended for the RC kit, so I MIGHT have used the wrong screws... but overall... I LOVE MY Mk IV TANK!

Just ordered this with a few other tamiya kits today, super excited

This brings me back to the old 1970s kits that were, pretty much, all motorized.

Tremendous Fun! Enjoy your hard work, Doc. Running them after completion ( a lot of folks say that with upgrades, they are never truly complete ) is the cherry on the ice cream sundae.

Oh my god I need this so bad in my life. The MkIV is my all time favorite tank, so when Tamiya came out with this kit it shot right to the top of my "gotta get it" list. :D

Hey andy, i do modelling without an airbrush, due to this, when i do painting the acrylic paint that i use tends to be quite thick, i found a way to get a smooth and even coat, i did this by watering down the acrylics and repeatatively doing layers, it managed to give a good and even coat.

As a soldier and historian I love this tank and it's design. I would like to get this model but sadly I couldn't paint to save my life, and they don't sell painted RC models.

Andy, I'm not sure if you have done a 1/35 scale UH-1 Huey yet and if you hadn't that would be a very cool build. If you do build the Huey you should add the firefly lights in the door. I'm not sure if they make the lights for it. The reason I'm asking is because my pop pop flew those over in Vietnam when he was there and then flew Huey's in the Delaware national guard for awhile. It would be great appreciated if you would consider it. Thanks James

Do you short videos explaining certain details, like you talked about the transfers, putting something on them several times. Be awesome if short videos in-depth explaining details like that.

Great video, as always! I would have loved to get my hands on this kit... If only I had more spare time these days. The last remote controlled model I built was the ancient Tamiya 1/25 Jagdpanther back in the days. Keep up the good work and I hope one day I'll have the honor to personally visit your shop and meet you.

I've just finished the single motor version ,originally I was going to leave it as a runner ,(did the same as you and put the tracks on to see it run ,way cooler than it has any right to be :D) ,but I wanted to really weather it and mud it up! - either way the kit's really capture how crude the early tanks were! Oh and I still have nightmares about those road wheel's !!! ;)

This model is probably faster than the real tank. And a lot more reliable.

Nice vid and nice model. It's an English tank, so its a 'silencer', not a 'muffler'. ;-)

Nice, i watched the entire video, an RC tank is an awsome idea to sell this tank wich is pretty bored compared by another ones like the renaul ft-17 or the a7v, but yes, the mark was the 1st tank so is ok if u want the first of the first...

It's even got its wee judder as tracks moving like you see the real one on old videos that's cool Haha!

Apparently, the manufacture of this particular tank is where the phrase 'riveting' came from, due to the number of rivets used, and the monotony. True* *possibly.

The color you painted it with is a tiny bit too peach-red. But otherwise amazing building as always andy!when are you going to make a diorama for your older ww1 female /male tank? Do you remember? You didn't weather it up because you were going to make a trench for it to cross! Would really love to see your take on a trench crossing with mud and the works. Good luck! Andy I love the videos, but the audio can be distracting at times, what do you use for the editing? If possible i would strongly recommend that you fade the music instead of cutting it off. But an amazing build and great video!

I remember in.the early.1970s There was a 12th scale radio controlled. Porche Ferdinand tank destroyer it cost $1800 you.could of gotten a Volkswagen for about $2000!!! It was at the Squadron shop

I built the single motor version of this kit. I loved it. I think I shared it a while ago in the facebook group. Great work Andy, love the vids, especially where you teach weathering. Great build. I just question Tamiya's design decision to go with plastic snap-together track links- how durable could those possibly be?

I wouldn't recommend Rayovac batteries of any type. They tend leak acid very soon after you install them. Spend a little more money on you r batteries.

great build love the Mk IV Male tank well most the early tanks. i wish there was 2 speeds. the speed you was using and a 1/35 scale speed. to show how slow they moved. but defo going to get one of them kits. oh did you get the files andy. ?

You make the painting look kind of easy.... I've looked into model stuff before but I worry about ruining models with awful paint jobs.
