Hey Josh! Nice video. Well done. Question: do you regret the size? I just got the 48’ as well, and even though I love how much gear this thing can carry, im worried now about doorways and elevators. Have you had any issues or horror stories you can share? Im considering returning for the 36’, but I’d love to hear from you on maybe why I shouldn’t?

I purchased this size because it is what I am most accustom to using on union film sets. The 48' is great for me because it allows me to place a large camera bag on the top shelf while also having ample room to work. I could see a smaller cart being useful in some situations, and it is pretty heavy for one person. Ultimately in situations where I NEED a cart I wanted something big. If the cart is too big for a certain job then I'll go back to carrying bags or using a smaller photography transporter.

Well said. I’m still debating but will let you know what I decide 😂

Now that you've had this for a while, how is it holding up? The 48" size looks great, but I would struggle lifting that into my SUV and fitting in small elevators. The wheels appear to have a locking level that might protrude out the side. Is it at risk of getting damaged in a door way. Any thoughts on this?

The cart is still going strong, and I've had no broken parts. The wheel lockers sit pretty deep, so I've never hit them on anything. The biggest concern is the cart locks, which I mentioned in my review stick out the farthest. So far so good.

@@DOPJoshDiaz Thanks for the reply. I've seen many of those ratcheting locks fail, so I wish the wheels were secured in a different way. Regarding the locks, someone mentioned they are wimpy in a review at B&H Photo. Q: Do you find the large cart weight is a drawback. I do a lot of solo shoots, and don't want a cart that is so heavy I can't transport it in/out of my SUV.

Can't u leave the horizontal bar clamped to the vertical pole when closed and transporting? When u setup the wheels why not flip the cart to vertical position to have easier access?
@DOPJoshDiaz

You could probably leave the bar on. As for the wheels, the cart base would have a tough time staying upright if you were to put the wheels on that way. You could flip the unit over, but it's pretty easy to line up the wheels, so I've always done it like I did in the video.

@@DOPJoshDiaz I was thinking that too. Leave the poles flat & flip it over, put on the wheels, then flip it back over & pull up the shelf poles. And I would use some color spray paint to mark one set of poles and shelf. You could do the same for the bar and handles.

How would ya compare this to traditional backstage/magliner carts?
@DOPJoshDiaz
@DOPJoshDiaz 2 месяца назад
Good question! I got this cart to replace my RocknRoller on bigger shoots, and it's great for that. If I had to compare it to a standard backstage cart (at least the ones im framilar with), I'd say the shelves feel more robust, and everything else is on par. I do like all the modular accessories with the Proaim that help you configure the cart to your needs. Out here in Manitoba, I mainly see two types of carts in the camera department, Proaim and Innovativ. I chose the cheaper option and so far so good!

The ONE really bad part about this cart is that the top shelf can not be lowered like the other pro aim cart I own. Might have to figure a way to augment that myself.

I haven't found that to be an issue. I knew what I was getting into with the price, so I was really just hoping it was solid, and it is!
