It's not necessarily a more complex build, but the process and the solutions are different from a log house build. This is the 8th episode where we build the roof.

I promised myself that if I ever built a house, it would be wooden. My wife and I founded the company Natural log house with the help of my two assistants Andrija and Tilen. The vision of our company is to build a home for people, in which uniqueness and nature come together. A home that is built according to their wishes and desires, down to every detail. A home that is bright, warm, and inviting. A home where they will always feel like one with nature. On our channel, you can expect content that shows the construction of wooden houses from beginning to end, step by step, under the hard-working Slovenian hands.

Sounded like the roof was ceramic. Good choice. Roofs need to last longer than just 20 years unlike the crappy asphalt shingle roofs most of us unfortunately have.

Отличная работа строительной бригады и лучшая строительная технология (post and beam) для деревянного домостроения! Но: 1. Где страховочные пояса у рабочих на крыше, а если кто-то упадет?! 2. Зачем было делать мансардный этаж вместо полноценного второго этажа, если можно было построить нормальное двухэтажное шале в немецком стиле как у соседей?! 3. Я бы для себя вместо черепицы выбрал алюминиевую кровлю Префа (двойной фальц либо под черепицу). 4. Модные сейчас окна до пола - очень непрактичны и жильцы будут жить в таком себе аквариуме. 5. Дымоход слишком короткий (нужно хотя бы минимум 80 см над крышей), а если привалит снегом?! 6. Всегда плохо, когда нет общего плана строительства поселка и каждый ставит свой дом как хочет, что привод в результате к скученности и дисгармонии. 7. Для себя я бы на крыше доски скобами не крепил - только гвозди, причем из нержавеющей стали. Вывод: в целом очень хорошая оценка качества исполнения!

There's no way you could work on that roof without scaffolding in the UK, unless it was your own personal build. But you couldn't work like that commercially.

While the roof and cabin looks beautiful, it is insulting from a building standards perspective. First, there’s absolutely no insulation in the roof area. Second, the boards installed over the rafters should have been staggered. These two details are not “small” details which can easily be remedied after the fact. Again, it looks very nice but is sad.

Roof may look good, but it is a very week roof, would not pass the Canadian building codes! Boards should be staggard over the roof so as the rows don't join on the same rafters

Looks damn strong to me. Canadian dictator makes you spend more money for minimal projects costing homeowners an arm and a leg to build. Canadian Government could learn a-lot from the Slovenians. @@brycegreen1573 1st of all if you looked at the boards they are NOT Tand G! My criticism of the roof was meant to be just that, when you live in any country with a lot of snow you need the roof to be as strong as it is possible to make it, otherwise it comes down under load! Do not presume to know what I am thinking, I meant exactly what I said. BTW there is no Tongue and groove on this project!

Déjà à la place des chevrons c'est des madriers c'est 12cm×25 cm,de plus renforce, la résistance à la flexion c'est plus élevé que dans un chevron,que est seulement 8cm×12cm,on plus à la pente du toit que à mon avis doit être proche de 45 degrés...ça tiens perfectment pour la tuile mécanique..sinon à la charpente traditionnelle avec des fermes et emboîtement à mortaise et tenant..
