When doing the beavertail cut, use a square line. So if you wanted to put a 45* angle cut 22.5* left of line 22.5* right of line. when you bring the piece back together it will match at bottom. Add some skid rollers to the bottom of tail. Burning/charring your wood will treat it for rot and bugs.

the pieces you cut out to bend the dove tail down will just weld into the end your bent up so it is level

Your build sheep s looking good. You might wana cut out some steel plate gussets to go over you dove tail butt welds for added strength
