The delays, cost, legal, and government constraints that the museum has faced is an even greater testament to how incredible the construction of the pyramids were. Imagine the construction of the pyramids before communication, planes, trucks, and cranes.

This new museum is truly the grandest GEM of all the world's biggest museums. Collectively, the comprehensive integration of the old and new, past and new technologies and features, including sustainability and eco-friendliness, makes GEM a veritable awesome mega build. Kudos to the visionaries who made this possible. Perhaps, the 'visionaries' of KSA's The Line, could learn something from 2 decades of this colossal yet 'unhurried' experience of building something like a legacy that would last forever.

I was there in March of2023. No galleries were open but it was possible to walk around the interior halls, see the grand statues in public places, and visit the food and merchandise concessions. We ran into a wonderful woman docent who was very friendly, informative, and a lovely person to talk with. I hope I can return after the grand reopening. If you haven't visited Egypt, go - it's the trip of a lifetime and the people are very friendly. I wish them well....

@@MegaBuilds5280 Again, I've heard these words many times before going back to 2013. The Egyptian government has been untrustworthy when it comes to making announcements about this museum. We will wait and see what happens...this time. How wonderful it would be for the entire world if the museum opened this year but I certainly would not make plans to visit Egypt based on yet another announcement of a grand opening. I will wait until it opens with the Tut exhibit fully opened then I will consider making plans to come to Egypt.

First of all: I like your video, thank you very much, Sir ! I hope, that the digital effects, as you show them in the end of this video, will not overwealm the dignity of the artefacts. It`s a global trend obviously, to make museums look like Video-games. Of course I wish good look to the Egyptians ! And what I like most: I see Egyptians building their museum and I see Egyptians restauring 'their' artefacts... Far beyond a giant museum: It will be a fine archeological studio, a workstation, a pool of technical knowledge and best possible experiances... The treasures deserve it !

That big ugly freeway viaduct directly adjacent to Nile Park makes me want to vomit. It would be great if the development paid more homage to Cairo's historic walkability over of its current car problems. I hope there's a new metro line either planned or under construction to connect with the Museum, as it's over 8km from the nearest Metro station, and a reliable rapid transit connection would drive greater tourism.

In 2013, Egypt ranked 85th as the world's best country in terms of tourism and travelling, so very low!! also, ripping off tourists is their national sport, once, We arrived late in the night and got absolutely harassed by a mob of people when we came out. My objection is about how GEM does not seem to maintain the monumentality of artefacts by NOT over-aggrandising where these monuments are shown. We arrived late in the night and got absolutely harassed by a mob of people when we came out. It wasn’t the mob that was the problem, it was the way in which they were screaming at us an inch from our faces trying to sell us something, that was the problem. I’ve not encountered a culture that gets so up close and personal, screaming in your face, as the Egyptians do when they want something from you. After travelling to so many countries, I haven’t been anywhere in the world that has affected me as badly Egypt did. Every restaurant, every taxi ride, they try to scam us, if you are only women, DONT, you are warned!! They dont understand the word no.....

According to the land of chem site on RU-vid, the pyramids are chemical processing plants and the big one is a sulfur oven and lightning preserver, hopefully that will be promulant in the exhibits

This is outrageous. We are a poor country and instead of building factories, we are building museams. We deserve it, our sins have earned us God's wrath and he punished us with a tyranical ruler.

Funny how Egypt is an African country but won't make it easy for other African countries to get the visas to visit. You'd think after this grand museum they'd open evisas for other African countries but no, they expect 50 million tourists from all over but their own neighbours. Anyway, lemme book an appointment to visit their embassy and maybe I'll get the visa 😏.
@baz77a
@baz77a 20 дней назад
Visas are used in the world to control movement of people and regulate migration... which is why those countries whose citizens have a general tendency not to overstay or seek ways of permanent residency once within the country, tend not to have visa restrictions imposed on them.

Thank you for your comment! The design of the Grand Egyptian Museum includes spacious areas to enhance the visitor experience and provide a sense of grandeur. These spaces are intended to give visitors room to appreciate the exhibits fully and to accommodate large numbers of guests comfortably.

@MegaBuilds5280
@MegaBuilds5280 24 дня назад
The triangles on the facade are actually a deliberate design choice inspired by the iconic pyramids of Egypt. The architects wanted to blend ancient Egyptian elements with modern architectural styles. We understand that design preferences can vary, and we appreciate your perspective.

Complete waste of money. With all those billions they could study Gobleki Tepe even further as well as the other mysterious sites found in Egypt. They could also try finding the lost massive labyrinth and finally tell us about the pre-dynastic period. They won’t.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We understand that architectural styles can be very subjective, and not everyone will have the same appreciation for the design. The architects aimed to create a modern structure that pays homage to Egypt's ancient heritage while incorporating contemporary design elements.
