That's very generous of you, Zack. I am really impressed with your building skills. All those curves are very sexy! Given more time, I think you will work out the few kinks and give the glamper its final finishing touches. Can't wait. Congrats.
I think if you two had gone in with a friendly competition in mind from the beginning, the final products for both of you would have been even better. Great job, guys!!
From the start, Ryan was very helpful and is continuing to be helpful about his ru-vid.comUgkxGqOCINHE0Z0E5gxzSdNi9NWGugRY5Hm2 Plans . Also, they have answered all the questions I have asked & I got outstanding support from his My Shed Plans full package.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Kevin, you are the best part of my Saturdays. You're funny, imaginative, skilled - and you have Don! ❤ Awesome combination
Wow ,with so many becoming homeless during the pandemic this could be an answer ,a micro camper made with a lot of recycled parts . It answers the basic parts , safety , cooking , sleeping , add a luggable loo . Kevin you and your wonderful crew knocked it out of the ball park .
takes a few thousand for this build. the reality is these are regulated and you would need land where the codes are overlooked. needing sanitation would be a major issue. water also. if i were spending the money i would suggest a large tent for $200, and 10 moving blankets from harbor freight for insulation and a large tarp to cover. 1 expensive warm sleeping bag and a car inverter (not the expensive unit seen here). the truth is 10 “homeless” would be far better off combining resources to live in a house like many foreigner communities do to get off their feet.
I'll be honest, I only watched Fowler's build only once, but your build like 6 times because it was much more interesting with all the recycled parts you used to create the glamper trailer! I can't say who won yet till I see it in action, cause it's only fair since we saw Zack transport/pull it to a destination, sleep/eat and enjoyed an overnight inside. . . So I can't wait to see the following adventure with your Glamper!!!
You win on everything but the cook station. A couple suggestions: 1) replace window on cook station side with a slider so you could access coffee pot or monitor the cooking from the inside. 2) might want to install a fold out roof extension that could be raised if your cooking in the rain so roof drip doesn’t fall on the stove. Great job, you have given me a project build
Kevin! You are the PERFECT Spokesperson! We really want one of these Jackery packs! You set everything up just perfectly to make the ad so understandable!
I love everything about this little glamper. 💓 Omgosh would luv to have one just like it. I like yours more. Luv how the bed and table fold to be outta the way. Luv the outdoor side table to prepare food on and it's fold down too.
Kevin wins! I need windows and the other one has none. I like he did with the outside cooking area, but yours has more flexibility on the inside with a wood stove and fridge!
I've been following Zach longer, and been interested in tear drop design, but got more inspiration out of your build. Especially using old garage door panels...brilliant.
Enjoy all of your builds, your narrative works always thinking changing for a better return on your time and skills, and your simplicity in design and waste not want not is using what's at hand, and to top that off you understand what plumb and square is Bravo, this was a good video
"we're going to stick them panels together and make this thing, something." Lol truer words couldn't have been said. Always entertaining and fun to watch. Great ideas and learning experience. Awesome build
Kevin hands down you win. You have windows insulation and ease of access also a nice storage area and seating. Glenfiddich goes to you. Mind you an awning over the cooking area would help in inclement weather.
Modern Self Reliance wins because of the windows, overall feel/look and it seems roomier. BUT Fowler's also wins because I'm now a new subscriber. Well done men!
First time ever watching either of you guys. Watched Zach's video first and was impressed with what he made but I have to say You Win. Insulated, sit/crawl space, and a little wood stove to boot. Subscribed to both!
Love the wood stove and insulation is a must for small spaces! You WIN! Thanks for the reuse of materials, too much gets thrown away that still can be put to good use!
Building cabins in the woods wasn't enough, he's advanced to cabins on wheels he can move anywhere, even in torrential weather. Loved this build, and this is a very cosy looking cabin. :P
RU-vid algorithm must’ve bumped it up a couple of weeks ago because that’s when i came across it too. ….and also just finished watching every single video on it. Lol
You had the very things he needed and he had the very glamping ideas you needed. For example: Fowler = TV, microwave, air fryer, hot plate etc. oh and a comfy bed. You: tables, wood stove, insulation, and overall aesthetics. Now come to think of it, Fowler had the very essence of what glamping means (you know, stuff most ppl wouldn’t bring to camp). So I’m going to say that 🎉Fowler wins. 🎉Now, let’s see you guys put both camper ideas into one!
I would like to see a collaboration on a two or four person camper. Both of you have great talent and ideas that I’m sure you could revolutionize the whole camper industry.
I love your finishes and the upcycling of garage doors. I think you win with your functionality, air flow and how you don't have to crawl into it. Zack had good air resistance and who can fault his expertise with wood and angles. Loved his gadgets that truly put the "glamp" into his build. I say a win for you, but can't wait to see Zach's 2.0 version.
You're a winner in my book! Solid build. I'm always impressed with the quality of your work (minus the fire...). Excellent use of reused materials, weather proof, and comfortable. I'm a huge fan of functional small spaces and I think you did a great job!
Zack has postponed his video until Sunday evening. He probably watched your video and realized he had to do some more modifications on his trailer since yours is darn near perfect!!
Your trailer build is awesome, Kevin, thanks for sharing this. I really reminds me of an old Disney cartoon I used to watch and drool over ,"Mickey's Trailer" , give it a watch you'll love it! Fist bumps from Rockwood
I love my Jackery ❤️. I don’t have the 1500 though…even so, it’s a great little thing to have. I wonder…how many of these projects are really planned out, versus, just winging it - with what you have, and hoping it all works out? They all come together so well! (smoker #1 being the exception ☺️) I just finished watching the whole video - it’s sooo cool! I love all of the details! 👏🏻
Kevin: "I have a feeling I forgot to do something." Vehicle behind: "Oh that's a cute little camper." Kevin: "Sounds like the mufflers coming loose or something. " Vehicle behind: "Where the hell did that frying pan come from?!" 😂🤣😂🤣 Kevin wins BTW.👍
I really think y'all both done just such a great job, def inspired me to build one , so that's coming !! And we'll I gotta hand it to you I like your build better , but it's just because of the design more than anything , great job and excellent inspiration!!
Kevin watched both you and Zach on the glamper build. You win! Being an old scrounger you had me at the use of old garage door panels. Been repurposing stuff for most of my 60+ years. Great build to both of you it looked like a lot of fun.
Florida here! Thanks so much for the content. I'm 30 years old and kind of but not so much a handy man lol. You are definitely inspiring and great at what you do. Please quit whatever job you have and make this your full time job! Lol.
Shape (Outside): Fawler Overall Concept: You, MSR Functions: You, MSR Interior Design: You, MSR I guess roadlegality would be an issue for both here in Switzerland
@@ScyPhR_0n3_DBK I think they're both great but I would have to go with Fawler the shape and all the add-ons when I look at this one I can't help but think of a shed on a trailer it's great don't get me wrong but I would have to go with Fawler. All the hard shaping of the wood that he had to do that was amazing the way it came out.
Love the idea of always having a log cabin to go back to after a day's hunting I totally love zack s channel but I think you have won this one great job
I know Zach had less time to build his glamper, but my first thought while watching Zach's build is hes gonna bake in his glamper during the summer with no windows.. the salvaged materials, fold out cot/countertops and utilizing the outside camper space for functionality is what really tipped the scales in your favor. Oh, and the mini wood burner is just *chefs kiss*
I love this, great build! With a small toilet and maybe even a place to hang a shower curtain outside where you could use a camping shower, this would be perfect for the summer.
This was an outstanding idea that no one would think of doing. I will bet you saved money and time in the long run and saved the time and money for insulation as well. I will remember this in case I ever have a chance like that...
They are both good, I personally like yours but his is really nice and I picked up ideas from the both of you. I'm actually building something myself in the gypsy style. Still unsure. I'm at the beginning stages so I may vlog the whole experience. Great vid
You have both built such fantastic little campers. Both so different from the other. Different materials, designs, construction, layout and final finishes. You both win in your own rights. So a tie, in which one is "better"! They are both great!
You win!!! From design to completion the functional space is awesome and I am inspired by the use of the insulated recycled garage doors. Thank you so much for your video 🤗
I, appreciate some of Zach's boat building skills while building his wood camper. But, I, really like Kevin's use of garage doors & sealing of of his joints for weatherproofing. Kevin, has windows & insulation... got to give the win to Kevin. Both campers are really cool.
I say you win the challenge because it's probably going to take Zack two or three months to get his video posted. I just went to his channel, and I don't see anything up yet. By the way, I subscribed to Fowler's Channel several years ago, then to the wooded beardsman, then eventually to your Channel. I think you should take a road trip with your camper to go visit Fowler.
I like both yours and Zach’s outfits, but I have to say yours is “more glampy”. Love it! I like that you can stand up to walk through it, and the main thing I like about yours is it has the 2 windows. I am claustrophobic, so windows would be a “must have” item. If Zach’s had a window, that would make a difference.
I don't even have to watch Zach's to know that you'll win this friendly competition. Awesome build Kevin, you might want some curtains over the windows, just saying!
Hey!! Love this!! I’m building a 70sqft MICRO! I didn’t see the link for the cooler In the description. Do You have any more information on that? 🔨🪜🧰🪚🙌🏻😃🏝
Great build, the only thing I would add would be screens for the windows, otherwise you may be fighting mosquitos. And Locks so someone doesn't steal your Jackery when you're not around. I guess you could move it to your truck but that sounds like a pain.
You're the clear winner here Kevin! Fowler's looks nice but it's still just a claustrophobic teardrop. I'm a fairly new subscriber to Fowler's stuff but your content is my preference and I know you'll catch up with him and your brother's numbers in no time! (Shout out to Don!)
Much as I think Zach did a great job, you have him beaten hands down for functionality. I was taking notes watching your build as I go camping a few weekends a year with a friend and we're both too old and knackered to rough it any more but too broke for anything fancy. We've been running a DIY tunnel tent made from a couple of tarps, scavenged poles and cobbled together scrap metal for a couple of years, I think it's time we upped our game!
I feel like shirts or something promotional needs to be made - with Kev illustrated in 80s movie poster style, with pencil in hat, massive tool belt, standing on a wood pile, and flanking Kev is Woodbeard and Don. Woodbeard would have a bow in one hand and a beaver in the other, with his shades on, wearing snow overalls. Don just has his arms folded looking bemused.
I can't thank you enough I love your videos and I'm learning how to build things through your channel and 100% loving fixing things up and wood working
This is a clear win! I love Zack and I love the classic teardrop but the living space with folding bar and bed, as well as the wood stove and solar panels have him soundly beaten. He was short on time and I want to see how much he catches up later with paint and improvements but you have a strong lead.
Dude this is the best micro camper I’ve seen! Love the walls idea to minimize the weight of the trailer, you the a shower, the owning, the water up front, a fkn wood stove I mean a fridge! Get build I’m gonna build one for snowboard/dirtbike trips
You know what would be funny? Hang one of those glow-in-the-dark "EXIT" signs right on the door under the circular window, that way you have something to look at while inside when it's pitch black at night before you turn in to sleep!
