We should cry out loud that Meatloaf. Wasn't inducted to the Rock and Roll hall of fame before he died! The Rock and Roll Hall of fame is a sham people need to tell them how off base they are
@robertsmalls3513
@robertsmalls3513 20 дней назад
It’s purely political. The rock hall has denied other prominent artists that deserve recognition as well, but they’ve turned them down due to politics. Rappers are typically a skin color that supports Democrats en masse so they get inducted even though they aren’t rock music. Meatloaf supported John McCain and Mitt Romney for President in 2008 and 2016. Do the math

@MoMoMyPup10

This one is different in a sense because it is the finale of a 7 song 'catalogue' album that broaches all of the emotions and confusion of learning what love is and what he wants with this young lady he's pursuing. From the Dashboard Light until For Crying Out Loud an evolution takes place, and this song is likely somewhere in the future when they started a family and he's reflecting on the chaos of growing up and becoming responsible. The buildup is the triumphant realization of what he has in her.

Since albums aren't created like they use to I feel bad that younger people no longer get the total album experience with certain artists. I'm 62 and I can recall about 10 albums or so that have zero filler and every track becomes your favorite. Bat Out of Hell is one of those albums. Simply not a bad song on it. And the funny part is absolutely none of the labels wanted to record it! Lol

Bat out of hell (the album) is 24 hour period in the protagonist life. The first song on the album, BOOH, is about escape. (The phrase, bat out of hell means: with extreme urgency without fear of consequences). In “For Crying Out Loud” (the last song on BOOH) he’s reached his destination (“the chilly California sand”). The journey has beaten him down. He’s humbled. Realizing that the ‘things’ he was searching for were the ‘things’ he left behind.

The songs from this album sound like nothing else from the 70's because they are literally "showtunes" done in a rock style. Jim Steinman basicalky wrote all these songs with a musical in mind. Most of Bat Out of Hell was written for a musical Jim was working on about Peter Pan. Fun Fact: This is the biggest selling album of all time that was written ENTIRELY (100% of both the music and lyrics credit) by one person.

Let's not forget & give a shout out to the producer on this song and album , the one and only Todd Rundgren. Jim Steinman & Meatloaf had approached other producers who all passed on doing the album. Jim was even belittled by Clive Davis who asked Jim if he even knew how to write a song. Jim & Meatloaf told Rundgren they had a deal with RCA records. When Rundgren found out the deal with RCA didn't exist , Albert Grossman who was Bob Dylan's manager offered to put it on his Bearsville label but needed more money. Rundgren had essentially paid for the album himself.

"For Crying Out Loud" is a later-in-life love letter to your partner. TL;DR: Old man life lesson musings. When you go back over the lyrics, they unfold as a reminesing over the phases of life as a couple from early commitment doubt, through the difficult years, and landing on the realization that through all of the ups and downs, all of the difficult times when you want to throw in the towel, etc, the best part of life was her (your long-term partner). In Meatloaf's delivery, you also feel the epiphany that real love is not the physical-attraction based feelings of immaturity and Hollywood, but rather real love is rooted in the deeper issues of never waivering commitment to being there for and with each other, no matter what the circumstances. In the lyrics, Steinman gives long lists of reasons to want someone, need someone, etc, all broken down into the phases of life together when these wants/needs/appreciations occur. However, with the crescendo the last "But most of all, for that I love you", the song (singer? guy reminising?) together every item from every list from every phase of life and is telling his partner that he loves her because of all of it. While Steinman wrote and presents this love letter from a male-to-female perspective, it isn't exclusely either a heterosexual or male-to-female love letter. Rather it is about realizing what real love truly is later in life, recognizing it in your long term relationship, and wanting your partner to know how much richer your life is because of EVERYTHING they brought to it. (or it is just a catchy track on the "Bat Out Of Hell" album that fit into the timing on the album's second side. Take your pick on which explanation works for you.) While this song was powerful as a teen when I first bought the album in 1977, it has gained relivence as I became old and irrelevant. I committed the common young guy mistake of basing marriage #1 on the shallowness which attracts youth and it played out predictably. But now in my 26th year of my second marriage, looking back on what we went through together, and realizing that not only did we stay together during the times which no one would blame either of us for leaving, but also that neither of us even so much as considered being anywhere but beside each other makes this song even more powerful.

I can’t believe you’re checking this out! It’s relatively the unknown track from Bat Out of Hell (one of the greatest albums of all time). Thanks and I’m excited to see what you both think. So, Jim Steinman (the songwriter and piano player) released a solo album after this. It was called Bad for Good. It was supposed to be Meat Loaf’s next album but something happened. I always thought it was because Meat Loaf got into an accident and couldn’t do it as a result, so Steinman decided to release it with himself doing the vocals. But it could have been a financial thing or another dispute IDK. Anyway, after you finish checking out every song from Bat Out of Hell, you should listen to the title track Bad for Good (it’s pretty good) but just imagine how great a song it would have been if Meat Loaf did the vocals!! Thanks again for checking this out !!!

In my mind, this song tells the story of a man who loved a woman but struggled with addiction. They come together, he screws it up, they come together, he screws it up, over and over. Finally he recognizes that she is freedom and the addiction was the master in whose chains he was kneeling. Hence the ending of thanking her over and over for sticking with him until he grew out of it.

This is how you end a rock opera album like Bat out of Hell. Jimmy knew how to put together an album.

You should not overthink this too much. When I heard this song as a teenager back in the 70s it seeped into my bones and the words and the music let me soar high above every time. This is simply one of the most epic love songs EVER written. Period.
