Chris - as always enjoyed your video's - it's serious and not serious at the same time. Your dedication to old tools is amazing - but then you are also using them. Keep it up - thanks

I'll say this I have alway been impressed with the work you pit into a project. I am in awe of how you organize tools and maintain that. I can organize but 2 or 3 projects later I have to start over

How does the whaleback saw compare to a normal handsaw like at 4:00? Hard to tell from the video
@ChopWithChris
@ChopWithChris Месяц назад
Honestly I just like to use the Whaleback whic it really for much thicker situations. I rip saw would do just fine.

Great design, but do you think it might need a cross brace on one side (just one because otherwise you wouldn't be able to get close to the wood) for when you dump the huge logs on it? And what's up with the huge belt on the workbench?
@ChopWithChris
@ChopWithChris Месяц назад
I thought the whole thing was going to crumble when I lost control of the log. Yes a brace may be a good idea if I need to handle this large of logs. I always keep a weight belt around so I don’t hurt my back.
@thomashverring9484
@thomashverring9484 Месяц назад
@@ChopWithChris I was wondering if you were about to be crushed under the log! I thought it looked like a weight belt! That makes sense.

if you plug that saw in it would cut faster
@ChopWithChris
@ChopWithChris Месяц назад
Where's the fun in that? :)
@crayx48

No need to apologize for the saw throw. It looked like a controlled and measured throw. Plus, you sawed for quite the long time. exhaustion makes one do things that are not "by the book".

Thanks! I get “feedback” when I throw my tools - deservedly so!

When you use both pull and push saws, does that balance things out in terms of your muscle aches?

I have two grandsons (4 and 3) who have made it their life’s goal to destroy my furniture. I think I’m going to make benches like this. I’ll then save for when they get past the coming home drunk and past their curfews then puking all over everything.
@ChopWithChris

Better epoxy also so the puke wipes off easy 😄
